18km, 3 hours, 40 mins. Outhgill church, Slough Brae Gill then Healey's Gill to summit. Down to Hell Gill where I was mobbed by a short-eared owl then down bridleway back. Lots of lapwings + curlews.John Eley13/05/2023
Parked in layby near bridge by Shaw Paddock Farm. Via ROWs made way up to the riuns at High Hall, then set off up open hillside towards Sails. Detoured to take in the source of the Ure, going quite hard work over tussock and semi-frozen bog. From Sails the going was pretty easy over Little Fell, Hugh Seat and Archy Styrigg. Cold but entirely clear, beautiful winter's day. Descended SWabove Hangingstone Scar and The Rigg before meetijng the High Way again and back to the farm. First 2000 ft summit in wellies!Rockdoctor02/01/2023
