From Stang House, effectively a circuit of Hurr Gill. Summit not obvious, and not even marked on the 1:25000 map, but we covered all of the likely ground and the trig. Lovely sunny day. Wellies helped on the summit area | Rockdoctor | 06/03/2022 |

Up from Stang House where there is plenty of parking. Not many grouse around nor people who shoot them. Kept to the feint track to the east of the gill till the end of the gorge then headed up to the trig first then went on to visit the high point some way further on. | Father Ted | 12/08/2021 |
MC JC O. From high point in road to E. Mossy and in parts boggy but reasonably decent walking. My 1000th Marilyn! Summit quite indistinct.Grouse butts- lots of them! | Martin66 | 11/07/2021 |

Re-ascent with a GPS. On the previous visit in a mist paced the location out on a bearing from the trig. No other confirming features. A lot happier now. Nevertheless, it still looks lower than the trig. | Eddie | 19/07/2020 |
Parked in the large lay by on the boundry of County Durham and Richmond, bog trot over to trig and then supposed summit, A little under Three miles in an hour. There is a few big gills to cross mainly near Hurrgill head but with a bit of care should keep feet dry. | WAYNE ROWLETT | 07/07/2020 |

4/5M parked near stang house atv track then soft ground to the top. | robertphillips | 22/10/2017 |
From top of the pass where theres plenty of parking. A drive up from Stafford for a few Northern Marilyns and as the forecast was wet I elected to come here first - before the rains. The going underfoot not that bad but visibility being good no doubt helped too. Summit is barely higher than the trigpoint. A huge sky -one can only imagine what it's like to be up here on a clear starry night. | stig_nest | 12/09/2017 |
With K; RM turned back after wetting ankle support in a bog. From high point on road. Terrain not terrible but a few drains/dykes to negotiate. | Ashley | 12/08/2017 |
Walked up obvious keepers' landrover track on E side of Hurr Gill from Stang House. From near head of the gill- many grouse butts there- followed less defined tracks to featureless summit area so went to trig point and walked SW. I agree- the high point is much more than 200 m away. Worth visiting the trig first for orientation and better views. Back to area with lots of butts then back down the good track. E wind, sunny and dry (very dry ground), further E looked very grey. | pwheeler | 09/05/2017 |
