A wet, wet, wet revisit with Kevin P. Parked at the car park near Tom Croft Hill then obvious route to the ridge keeping the woodland to your left. Then keep to the north of the wall after the 1st of 3 stile gates before a wooden stile gives you access to the trig to the south of the wall & fence.Dugswell230/06/2023

Perfectly frozen, sunny winter walk from the A684 car park, first following a snow trodden wall-side path/ATV track to Knoutberry Haw and Baugh Fell, then back to the camper for tea and toast before tackling the south side of Garsdale: another ATV track and snow trodden wall-side path to Aye Gill Pike. Around 5 hrs total. Will be much boggier in milder conditions.summitter14/12/2022

Dent, across river and followed paths NW across fields to join Dales High Way at SD696891. Followed this to gate at SD694898 and then headed east along wall all the way to the top over a very icy stone stile! Returned same way to SD693895 before heading west on path for 300 meters and then across pathless country to Helms Knott. Returned to Dales High Way and followed it back down and along the river to Dent.Flatfield21/11/2021
Solo from the potholed viewpoint/parking off the A684 (SD 69418 91236). Walked to cattle grid, then followed grassy track by wall to summit. Initially with wall to L, then R after crossing a wall stile at SD 70958 89232. Two more wall stiles to summit, then a step stile at top to access trig pt. Easy navigating, easy underfoot, a good one.ADT12/09/2021
From car park to top. Cloudy. Straightforward.PhilipChaston29/08/2021
From the carpark at NW. Straight over the road, up then via left to pick up the light vehicle track following the wall. A few gates on wall tops to negotiate. Very straight forward. Great views especially of Howgills on way back down. With Tiarnan.Pete West14/08/2021

Followed the steps of others from large car park to north west(which must have the most and the deepest potholes of any car park in the country) on glorious spring day.Clear but often boggy path to the ridge, then a saunter along firmer path. Incidentally, do not make my mistake and cross the bwf too early Wait until the stile by the trig.catman30/03/2021

Parked in the very large view point car park on the A684 at grid 69433 91249. Walked east along the road a little to reach the path going south first before bearing south east to reach the trig. Five miles in Two hours.WAYNE ROWLETT19/09/2020
A windy and overcast day but fine views in all directions. We went early as rain was forecast after lunch. Easy walk up although the ground is already very saturated and it's only September. I think it'll be a moist hill this winter!!morgs4mountains11/09/2020

Clockwise on my own from Dent.Phreerunner20/07/2020
First walk for a long period of time. Parked at the view point/car park (pt 204) on the A684 and walked up the road towards the cattle grid. Broke off to the right before the grid and climbed up until I meet the path, an old ATV track. Followed this southwardish and parallel to a wall on the left(eventually a forest on the left for a while) until it met a cross wall running east/west. turned left and followed this wall on the north side crossing three other cross walls using very good styles. From the last style to the top was a short distance. Top is obvious, a trig point. reached by another style. Brilliant views of the Howgills. Return to the car park by the way up.Walk was dry. In the wet I could see it being a bit of a slog.MikeM29/05/2020

From Dent village. Followed Dales Highway to ridge at SD 695 898. Then east up along the rather wet track adjacent to the wall to the trig at the summit. Returned by the same route. 14km with 500m ascent in 3h20m there and back. (S)silveracorn_alan08/03/2020
From NW, large car park at Pt 204, short distance east along road to cattle grid where there may be limited parking. ATV track roughly follows course of stone wall on SW side then continues south of a spruce plantation up past 400m, then faint path and stone wall stile gates to summit. Ideal conditions, sunny afternoon, light wind and hard frosted ground.Topographer5701/12/2019

5 mile walk out-and-back from near viewpoint NW, took footpath south then followed wall by the forest (the trail here being pretty non-existent) until it joined the ridge wall, followed the path on the north side of the ridge wall to summit. Great views for a hill of its size surrounded by mountains, lovely day, not a cloud in the sky with nice breeze made walking very easy.DanTrig01/07/2018

Then up the side of the wall to ridge (tree on horizon demarks where it meets the ridge line wall. Follow on north side as there are styles through the walls (not so on the south). Easy slope (a little boggy in places) to the summit trig. Good views to Whernside/Great Coum and Howgills on a sunny evening.N.Morters13/07/2016

From Dent. A traverse of the hill and the Dales Way in the valley gave a satisfying walk of great beauty and interest. Fine, though quite hazy views. You need a 1/25K map to get through Keld (Dentdale), the way off the hill to the Dales Way W of Dent. In all,13 miles. Staying at Dent enhanced the enjoyment of walking in the area. It's got the balance between a vibrant community and catering for visitors just right. And 2 good pubs!pwheeler09/09/2015

There is now a concessionary path leading from the south, starting at the Dent road, giving access through Hall Farm to the open access area. The wall can be followed all the way from here to just west of the summit. Remember though, as you reach Hall Farm there is an arrow pointing to the right. Cross the footbridge and turn immediately left alongside the beck to a second bridge just visible 20m away. This way is dry all the way to the summit ridge, then the bogs start! Only for a few hundred metres though! There is a free roadside parking area to the south of the bridge before Dent village.moorsman05/03/2014
