With Alan on Otley-Guiseley-Esholt-Baildon walk. Steep walk up from Otley Station Rd but worth it for extensive views, including upwards to arriving aeroplanes into Yeadon airport to the south-east, nobbut a couple of hundred foot above you. Popular point with locals and understandably so.JOHNS07/09/2022

Quick visit from quarry carparkfasgadh22/05/2022
Nice leg stretch following drive up from Suffolk. Almost a drive up. Just a short walk from Yorkgate Quarry Car park over the stile and following paths round to the right. Went to highpoint first at south end of 280m contour circuit, then walked north over other high points to make sure it was bagged and to come down a different way to the ascent. Did not make a lot of difference. Note car park is locked between 6pm and 9am, though could park in entrance in the evening as you won't be blocking anyone in.mntainman20/05/2022

Damp muddy with rain later but thoroughly enjoyable - from East Quarry - contoured along the hill west as far as Woodlands Farm - then east along Dales Way ridge path bagging summit (282m)next to York-gate Quarry - continued along ridge past Surprise View then on to York-gate farm - crossed road to also bag the trig atop Caley Deer Park (242m) felled and cut timber all around - then as the rain arrived a slow meander back to the East Quarry car park.briandavies01/01/2018

From Otley. Punishingly steep if the direct path is used. Idled on the rocks enjoy the beautiful views watching storm clouds build then had a wander to the quite inconsequential summit. Back down a more circuitous route through the woods. Finished the day by visiting Beecroft Hill.Jake99423/07/2017

1st hill of five today on a route from Menston station to New Pudsey. Quite a lot of road walking but once into Chevin country park, it was straightforward and their are some charismtamatic boulders en-route too. Summit as described, continued on path to Surprise view and then headed South on track to Yeadon.Dazingdale22/01/2017
