First Mountain in *years* - with Matt Higgins, Gary Teare and Harry (Siemens)Fwapp17/12/2023
Arrived in Edale on the train before sunrise. Briefly on Pennine Way, then up the steep climb towards Grindslow Knoll. Light scrambling towards Grindslow Knoll summit, then a tricky steep descent through the ice and snow on the other side. The ridge was very exposed to the snow and icy winds but the path easy to follow given the footprints. A very scary crossing of Crowden Brook, then along the ridge to Pym Chair. Struggled to navigate to the Kinder Plateau in <20m visibility but managed to follow deer tracks to the true summit. No problems with bogs as peat was frozen over. Snow at summit was 4 inches deep. The Kinder Plateau in these conditions was comparable to Siberia. I saw one other walker on the whole trip.hillbagger9105/12/2023
Amazing 15.2km walk from Hill Houses, taking in Kinder Low, the true Kinder Scout Peak on Kinder Plateau, Kinder Downfall, and Kinder Reservoir.SlopingOff28/10/2023

Straightforward walk from Edale to Kinder Low, then along random tracks to the pile of stones near the summit. Also went to the Ordnance Survey high and the place that looked like the highest point to cover all bases. Completely gorgeous sunny day, the sky was an ocean of blue.edmundjohnson03/09/2023
With Simon. Ended up in Sheffield!LANGDALE31/08/2023
From Edale via Grindslow and Jacob’s Ladder with Ikuko. Used the village charity overflow car park, only available 28 days a year we were told. Loads of heather flies bumbling about on the hill. Super to be on the hill again, and bagging.GWR Chris28/08/2023
Great walk, we aimed to do the circular so started by climbing up a waterfall which was challenging but stunningJMB24616/07/2023
Parked at Edale and began ascent up waterfall at 10.30. Walked past the weavers and then to kinder scout at c.14.30 approaching the summit cairn from the south. Descended via Jacobs ladder and pennine way.JXNJP16/07/2023
Parked at Barber Booth - still spaces at 9.30! Up PW to Kinder Low trig, then across to Kinder Scout, which was surprisingly dry underfoot. Then down to Noe Stool and the stone path to Brown Knoll, Rushup Edge, Mam Tor, Barker Bank and Lose Hill and back via Hollins Cross. Lovely day and weather. Solo. Good to see the large number of kids out on DofE expeditions - prime time, prime location, post exams.richard6913/07/2023
Up to Kinder Scout from Edale and then across the plateau to Kinder Downfall. Took a long route south and then west before circling back around to EdaleMMoncrieff05/07/2023
Parked at Peep o Day farm. Walked up to Brown Knoll and on to Kinder Scout.justin_j_evans24/06/2023
From Brown Knoll. Trig and high point. Soloed 5 rock climbs on Upper Edale Rocks. Lots of people walking up from Crowden, disgusting amount of litter - tissues everywhere, bottles smashed on rocks cans and plastic chucked down every crevice in the rocks.Nick Canute25/05/2023
After a damp few days cycling from Chester the sun started to peek out. Lots of people all over the place enjoying the sun.pclyndes07/05/2023

Parked in Hayfield and followed the Kinder Downfall fell race route up the Snake Path and William Clough. The path to the summit from Kinder Low trig point was very difficult to find. Back via the Swine's Back and Edale Cross.gbeniston06/10/2022

Met Lindsey at Edale station off the train from Sheffield at 09.00. Parked in stn carpark (£4 all day). Walked up beside the Golden Clough brook, ate lunch at top, then west along the edge to descend Grindsbrook Clough. Drove to WK. Clear weather, warm and dry. (Didn't visit Kinder summit.)Skip30/08/2022
MC from Edale. V hot. 32 deg on leaving car. Suffered a bit going up Jacob's Ladder. Full circuit. My 1L of water was a bit insufficient!Martin6611/08/2022
Hard to find the summit, shame there isnt a plaque commemorating the Kinder Mass Trespass Followed route of the mass trespass through William Cloughfreethehilltops29/07/2022
Went off track to trig point, using fence as marker. Walked Southwards from Trig towards Mam Tor to find the path again. Path a bit tricky on the way down, twisted my ankle twice.Bailg22/05/2022
After two tough County Tops on the day before, me and my cousin did the highest point of Derbyshire the next day. It was definitely one of the best county tops in England for how technical but fun it was, and the great weather on the day. We went up Crowden Clough which my cousin really enjoyed, and going up the side of the waterfall was very fun. Went right to the end of the river where there are a few massive boulders to get past. Then walked too the Summit which was very boggy and had a little tiny cairn on top. Walked too Kinder Low and Trig before heading back down via Jacob's Ladder.DavidHiner08/05/2022
Fine weather, sunny intervals. Summits via Broadlee Bank & Woolpacks to Pym Chair. Fairly dry underfoot aiding speedy progess across top. Some cairns had been needlessly knocked over, but all summit posts intact again (W, Central (popular), N Central, S Central (alongside Pym Chair path), E (by old cairn), Ridge & N-S paths crossroad (near E cairn). Old far Eastern ridge cairn also damaged. Quick access to Crowden Gates & Downfall via long Grough from far east cairn before sunset descent off mountain. Saw only one couple walking all afternoon, plenty of solitude & space up there, lovely.Mapref26/04/2022

First chance of fine weather for weeks, departed Nags Head 16:00, ascent via Broadlee Bank from Pennine Way up swift route above Grindslow Knoll path. Southern edge to Pym Chair then north to long established Eastern Cairn top. Noted most of the stakes marking various tops still intact after storms, except WSW top. Google Earth pro by the way shows popular central turf top just nudging 637m as does eastern cairn. For 50m north & 80m east of this the largest area shown at 637m by the crossroads of the summit ridge paths from Kinder Low & from Pym Chair to River Kinder headwater gullies. Not measured on surveys shown on Hillbagging website. Left summits around sunset @ 17:40 returning by same express route (headtorch needed by Broadlee Bank) to another Pint at the Nags. Very refreshing all round.Mapref27/02/2022
Early morning walk via Grindslow Knoll and down via Kinder Low and Jacob's Laddernix_snilloc25/02/2022
From Upper Booth car Park up Jacob's ladder - a motorway of a path so very easy going to the trig point. Then, for the first time, using my newly acquired What3words app to get close and then OS locate App to get it spot on. Apps made it very quick. Small grassy table on a mound (see survey above). No cairn though several others scattered around. Back down the much rougher route of Crowden Clough.dickscroop11/02/2022
Nice walk up Kinder from Edale with Louis and Harry, once at the top had a great view of the cloud inversions. Went over to Kinder downfall and then came back the way we came up.Buckleymon17/01/2022
Chapel Gate track, then paved path all the way to Brown Knoll. On to 633 trig. Across the moor in mist to Kinder summit. Pym Chair and the mist started to clear dramatically. Followed the edge as far as Grindslow Knoll. Down To Edale and pub. Across fields back to car. With Rick and dogs.jenx17/01/2022
On a fell run from Edale.Wheelsy19/12/2021
Wow, what a stunning walk. Parked at the free Barber Booth Car Park and had a good walk to the summit, around the top and back again the way I came. The drive to the car park is breathtaking and the whole climb up Jacob's Ladder really is something to behold and the reward is simply awe inspiring views across the whole Peak District from the top. Rather blustery mind!jamiequackers26/11/2021
Kinder Scout from Edale Station, via Pennine Way and Jacobs Ladder. Many disputed summits so not easy to find. Return Crowden Tower, Upper Tor, Nether Tor, Crookstone Hill and Win Hill to Hope Station.raymooremanx22/10/2021
From Barber Booth up the Pennine Way via Jacob's Ladder to Kinder Low. Then NE across the plateau to the summit. Found the grassy mound that marks the summit using GPS as visibility poor once past Edale Rocks. Retraced steps (ish) back to Edale Rocks then E via Noe Stool and the Woolpacks to Crowden Tower. Down via Crowden Clough to Upper Booth and then back to Barber Booth.OM1217/10/2021
From Bowden Bridge CP. via Kinderlow End. I have been up here lots of times in the 80s and 90s but my notebooks refer to landmarks and trig points. This visit with a GPS was to definitely mark the HP spot. With Karen.ChrisR14/10/2021
Circular walk from Edale with a diversion to find the summit. Hard going over the bog to find the spot height of the summit.maltloaf19/09/2021
From Edale, picked up Pennine Way, Jacobs Ladder, Kinder Low, Kinder Scout, massive peat bog, tricky ravine descent, Rambler's Arms. Wonderful walk, shame about mist on top.cjwilliams03/09/2021

From Barber Booth. Early start up Crowden Clough where farmer was rounding sheep up high on the hill as I passed below him. Lovely way up the Hill especially as it was warmish and sunny with clear skies. Saw Dippers and a Grey Wagtail along with usual Meadow Pipits. Last bit before reaching the plateau was steep. Once up I followed the edge to wool packs and Pym Chair before picking a faint path across the plateau to the true summit. Last time I was up here over 25 years ago I remember lots of exposed peat and I couldn’t say if I got to the actual summit or not. Today there was a lot more vegetation and the walking was surprisingly easy. The summit was marked by a cairn on a grassy knoll. Visited the other high points close by and another cairn to the east close to the spot height on the OS map. I saw a Merlin and Short Eared Owl along with Skylarks,Wheatear and the ever present Pipits. I also saw what looked like Stock Doves. I visited Kinder Low and headed down the Pennine Way via Jaisabelle04/08/2021
