Started out with theDev from Fell Foot parking area. Opted for diagonal zig-zag approach rather than the steep direct ascent. Cloudy with light breeze, dry underfoot. Route took in Parlick with Hen Harrier hunting. Continued along ridge west of boundary wall for excellent views to Irish Sea over the Fylde. Ascent to Fair Snape (West cairn) easy followed by pleasant walk across plateau to eastern cairn. Peat hags bone dry this summer, even after a day of heavy rain in Lancashire yesterday.Ideal for light-footed bog-trotting. Returned to Fell Foot via east side of boundary wall overlooking the picturesque Greenlough Clough. Traversed the slopes of Parlick before the steep descent to the car. | thedobber | 17/07/2018 |

A beautiful summit offering great views to the south and west. Very windy and there is only a trig and a cairn called Paddy's Pole. Parking near Sykes, walked by the river and up to Totridge, the route across to Fair Snape Fell was the just a swamp of bog with no signs of a path, probably the worst bog I've ever came across after 8 years of summit-bagging, got to Fair Snape Trig and summit eventually, then headed north across nearly impassable bogs until finally finding workmen putting flagstones down, the path down Bleadale Water clough is newly improved all the way back to Sykes, all in all a good day out. | DanTrig | 13/04/2012 |

On Boddington Hall walk: Newdrop Inn- Longridge Fell- Cardwell- Chipping- Parlick- Fair Snape Fell- Saddleside- Chipping. This was the 'hard mountain way' after lunch, heavy showers but excellent visibility in between. I think this afternoon's walk gives some of the best mountain scenery and atmosphere in Bowland. | pwheeler | 07/11/1976 |
