Parked in one of the last few places where one can park without fee or restrictions. From the ski centre, through woods to join Allt a Mhuilinn FP from the North Face CP (rough road). Then FP, L, through frozen bogs and sheet ice to 600m. Then snow covered grass and rocks up W flank to Carn Dearg Meadhonach and on to Carn Mor Dearg. Back to CDM and Carn Beag Dearg, hoping to descend N, but very slow going in deep drifted snow between big boulders, so down W then a contour round at 600m to cross Allt Daim below Meall Beag, which was ascended in a clockwise spiral using Blue Doon MTB track (closed) for Sgurr Finnisg-aig. Because the ski centre had not seen fit to provide an FP down, I descended one of the (closed) MTB tx back to the ski centre | Isbjorn 3rd Round | 10/11/2023 |
From Torlundy. High winds, so no arete onto Nevis. | liljonb | 18/10/2023 |
With Madeleine. Glorious cold, sunny day with views for miles and great light. Covering of snow above 3500ft which made proceeding along CMD arête a bit fraught (for me anyway, plus my stiff, sore knees, “stomach” issue, lack of crampons etc) so we didn’t get to the Ben as planned. So reascended CMD amd returned same way to N Face car park. Cracking day out all the same. Plenty others heading to Ben via CMD arête but not our day for it. | niallp | 17/10/2023 |

CMD, Ben Nevis. Missed the turnoff for the CMD path and only noticed when near the CIC - scrambled up the side of CMD and witnessed an airlift from the cliffs of the north face directly opposite, topping out at Carn Dearg Meadhonach | Barns150 | 04/06/2022 |
OMC camping map at Roybridge, with Simon Walsh, I parked just before the North Face car park (as it was already full) at 07:35.
Started at 07:50, followed track for CIC Hut then cut off up the boggy 'path' for CMD once past the forestry. Left phone 200m shy of summit, but noticed quickly so was able to nip down to find it. Went over the summit of Carn Dearg Meadhonach (MT) then Carn Mor Dearg (M). The Arete was no where near as bad as I had expected, one short narrow area (600mm wide) but it could have been bypassed, I just walked over it. Once on top on Ben Nevis (M) the crowds were too much. We raced down to the lochan to try and get clear of all the tourists in jeans and trainers, playing near to snow cornices...
Pathless section from lochan back to CIC Hut track, fine with gaiters. Sunny all day, fantastic views, 11:20hrs all in. | chillyman8 | 04/06/2022 |
Carn Mor Dearg and Ben Nevis from the Visitor Centre car park. Followed tourist track to the halfway lochan. Then over to the CIC hut, from where an unremittingly steep ascent of 350m took me to Carn Beag Dearg. A fine ridge walk over to Carn Dearg Meadhonach to Carn Mor Dearg, and then the excellent CMD arete to the Ben, affording fine views of the north face. Arrived at the snow covered summit of the Ben at 4.15pm with many visitors and extensive panoramic views in the clear and sunny weather. Followed the zig zags down with a diversion across to bag the two Carn Dearg NW tops. My 15th ascent of the Ben, but first time in 15 years, so great to revisit such a great mountain expedition again. 22km with 1700m ascent taking 10 hours. | silverwolf_alan | 28/05/2022 |

From North Face Car Park (NN 14496 76426). Followed North Face Trail towards CIC Hut before peeling off to make the relentless ascent of Carn Dearg Meadhonach, very boggy in lower reaches but the path improves as height is gained; then onwards to Carn Mor Dearg. Re-traced the outward route back to the start. | david230201 | 14/08/2019 |
