Our 1000th hill on this database. From Carlton Lees car park, beautiful walk through lovely woodland. Very peaceful with birdsong the only sound. Saw numerous deer. | Lazylizzie | 01/05/2023 |

As others room Rowsley up various tracks and paths through the wood. Small cairn on the summit wall. Back out of the wood then completed 8.5 mile circuit through Chatsworth Estate back to car park. | JulieB | 22/08/2022 |

Pleasant walk up from Bakewell. Summit area is quite disappointing but there are some delightful panoramas of the surrounding area along the way. | Alex C | 19/08/2022 |

From church lane. Followed bridleway to calton Lees then calton house cottages. Footpath up hill to trig and summit and back down bridleway to church lane. Great walk | Longwojo | 13/03/2022 |
From Rowsley. Up the bridal way as other and path to Tumulus then following plover lines, track and finally (quietly) grassy track. 7/7 HuMP | N.Morters | 05/02/2022 |

Ascend from either Bakewell via Carlton Pasture or Rowsley via 24404 66970 to the tumulus at the edge of the wood at 24165 68076. Then cross two fields to gate at 24678 67862 for access to woodland trails and rides. in the second field keep the high side of the fence. Return to tumulus the same way to continue the walk. Near the summit there was 20+ deer. Horrible to see that the fly tipping is still there. | Glenelg | 10/01/2022 |
Up from Rowsley as described by others along good tracks. HP near wall past the rubbish | PeterD | 06/12/2021 |
Staying on the campsite at Chatsworth so walked from there. Through the grounds of the House to Edensor, up steps just after church and then FP and bridleways. Expected a track when entering woods but it was more of a wide, grass game-trail. Eventually meets up with a proper track to piles of logs. Continue once again onto game-trail and then as mentioned by others - fly-tipping etc. | Meanderer | 23/09/2021 |
Up from Rowsley as most others. It seems a shame when fly tipping becomes an aid to navigation. Did find a small mound, where a tree had toppled many years ago, right on the 304 spot height. Coincidence or natural HP? Made a walk of it by visiting trig and Ballcross Hill. Return via Manners Wood. | Richard Gunn | 16/09/2021 |
From Rowsley as others describe. Right of way towards tumulus. Cut off right from path. Left along power lines to track on left. Just before large timber stacks make slong grassy track to left. Fly tip in woodland. | Pete West | 09/08/2021 |
From near Rowsley Church. Followed BW all the way to the Tumulus, good track a views up to this point. From here we followed the power lines to a decent forest road which then lead on to an old forest ride to the summit area near the wall. There seems to be a fair bit of rubbish dumped on the edge of this last forest ride, so much for sensitive wildlife? | Jephcote83 | 01/08/2021 |

Lovely sunny evening and nice run off through pastures towards Chatsworth. Approached from W. Best not to approach from E / Calton Lees since I know from planning (authorised) orienteering events here that the pheasant keepers keep an eye on the tracks up from there. | davechaffey | 22/06/2020 |
Parked in Rowsley for the second attempt. On the first visit I almost reached the summit but there was an archery event going on with pretend animals being shot at. The security people turned me away for understandable but frustrating reasons. This time nobody was about. | clivevilla | 28/01/2020 |

Nice misty inversion. Quite easy from Rowsley, with Bryher and Rick. | jenx | 14/02/2019 |
Up from Rowsley village with Jenx and Bryher. Possible to park up in Church Lane. Water works ongoing digging up road. Followed track and RoW all way to gate at SK 24373 67701. Then easy rides and new forest extraction road to shooting camp or the like near summit. Seems abandoned now. More direct line back down to first gate found with the access notice. | nordicstar | 14/02/2019 |
Parked on the road at the old railway abutment - 255660. Good track to 244669 then up another good path before going through wall at 244675. Good forest tracks to top against wall remains. Solo. | bolton | 07/12/2018 |
Parked at roadside just before remains of railway bridge at 254660 - Up lane and then bridleway to junction at 244669 - N. up South Peak Loop to gap in wall at 244675 - Through gap and then short path through bracken to overgrown track - Along forest tracks to unmarked summit by overgrown wall.
