Day 2 of a 5 day winter backpack around the Shropshire hills. The light when at the summit of Stiperstones was truly dramatic as the sun was starting to set. Combined with the threatening skies, it was one of the finest light shows I've experienced. I walked over from Long Mynd. | morgs4mountains | 20/11/2022 |

5/6 Dewey Day. Stiperstones from the Nature Reserve car park to the south east. Visited the Trig, which has a lovely airy perch on the very top of the rocky summit. (S) | silveracorn_alan | 14/08/2021 |
Parked at the National Trust car park to the south (£3 but entirely voluntary) and followed the footpath to the summit. Continued onto Devils Chair and then looped back around, car park very busy by the time I got back so advise getting here early in summer! The summit was breathtaking in the mist, very eerie and had a distinct Middle Earth feel to it. Will be coming back here on a clearer day to see what I imagine to be the incredible views. | jamiequackers | 08/08/2021 |

A small and easily missable sign at the top CP says it is pay-by-mobile-phone parking (whatever that means, and unsure of what the £ penalty is if you fail to see it and comply). There is a bigger more prominent sign with the same message at The Bog CP. But there is free verge parking near top CP. Up Shropshire Way from road junction at SO362976 - a horribly rocky slow going path, reminiscent of the boulder fields on some Scottish summits. Entertaining, but all too brief, scramble to trig point. | Isbjorn | 17/04/2021 |
A wander around from Knolls carpark | Dan Baddeley | 12/12/2020 |

I liked climbing the rocks with my family and it was fun going down them. I liked the walk up because of the cool heather | speedyclimber | 25/07/2020 |
Very scenic. Initial path up is good, however once you get toward the summit the path is very rocky and around the trig point itself there’s very a steep drop. Stunning views and worth it in the end! | evangelinebarratt | 25/07/2020 |
From the Bog car park - surprised that there were not more folk about. We both took as challenging a line up the rocks as possible. Maisie declined to jump of the trig! | DanMaisieBex | 24/07/2020 |
From car park to trig point atop rocky outcrop | ianandbarbara | 24/07/2020 |
11.7 mile walk from The Bog car park, followed surprisingly easy and well waymarked paths across fields to Mucklewick Hill, from there headed south through Nind farm and along unclassified road up onto Black Rhadley Hill, from there followed road a little further then path up to Nipstone Rock (22m prominence), then easy trail up onto Stiperstones (2nd time bagged), nice rocky climb up to the trig, then followed Shropshire way north with a quick heather bash onto The Paddock, turned back and followed contouring path west of Stiperstones back to The Bog. Clear and sunny/breezy day with amazing views of surrounding area and afar from the Radnor Forest up to Plynlimon area and Snowdonia; You could easily see the Berwyns, Aran Fawddwy, Cadair Idris and what looked like Glasgwm, Maesglase and maybe even Snowdon. Quite busy on Stiperstones but the rest of the walk fairly quiet. Earlier that day bagged Earls Hill. | DanTrig | 20/06/2020 |

Followed easy path to trig although had to use compass a a few times as it was mega foggy today. Scrambled up slippy rock to Trig from East side thebonce up, realised west would have been safer. No views due to fog but a great mini adventure | ironwolf | 27/12/2019 |

Started in the Stiperstones National Nature Reserve - Knolls Car Park at SO 36978 97716 (take note someone has turned the road sign 90 degrees at the entrance to the CP) easy walk for the first part until you reach the ridge then the path becomes very stoney, the summit a trig point (TP6185) requires an easy scramble, excellent views all round. | Tony Hartry | 14/01/2019 |
Parked to the SE of Cranberry Rock. Then walked up to Stiperstones, climbed up to the trig again after 16.5 years, then walked over to the Paddock. Returned by same route before the drizzle arrived. | Dugswell2 | 01/10/2018 |
Very rocky path. Good quality footwear essential to prevent twisted ankles. | Ed | 15/08/2018 |
From Snailbank village hall via Lordshill & The Paddock. Clear path from The Paddock which joins the Shropshire Way. Rock formations and 360 degree views to be seen en route before reaching Manstone Rock and the trig point which requires some care but should be safely achievable for most walkers/climbers. | muzza2 | 14/08/2018 |

Part of a mega circuit from Hope School, following tracks to Crows Nest Dingle, then to Castle Ring hill fort (it has to be seen, and is a fine view point). Then along the ridge to Stiperstones, via all the rocky knobbles, then to Heath Mynd, Corndon Hill and back past Mitchell's Fold along Stapeley Hill and minor roads. Watch out for insane, aggressive dogs at Little Cefn Farm and Corndon Farm (if you have problems with them, report the problem to Powys County Council). | Gill | 10/10/2015 |
From The Bog car park, followed path up over road and onto summit at Manstone Rock. Not the easiest trig to reach but worth it. Good scramble over Devil's Chair and then back down. Great place to walk - like Long Mynd but much quieter. | Stuzinho | 27/06/2015 |

A rock-strewn 30 minute jaunt from the moorland car park, but offers superb rewards in the shape of long views in all directions. The final ascent to the triangulation pillar is regarded as a mere clamber by some, but is the closest I ever get to rock-cl | mrs_ts7 | 02/08/2010 |
Second (and third counting the small 500 contour just NE of here) of all peaks in Shropshire over 500m done on 2nd August 2010. | Chingwakabungya | 02/08/2010 |
Started at public car park, NE to meet Shropshire Way just above 'The Hollies'.
Followed the Shopshire Way down to 'The Rock' and returned via road past 'The Knolls'

Walked from The Bog up to Striperstone and then along the Shropshire Way to Heath Mynd. | rhalstead | 13/02/2010 |
We struggled to drive there in the snow. Ascended from The Bog. Foggy and cold. As we gained height, we exited the fog and it was deep snow, crip, blue and the sharpest view possible. From Devils Chair, we could see Snowdon. Unbelievable! What a day! | Steve W | 24/12/2009 |

Done this one a few times, was taken there by friends before I had a great understanding of where I was. Would like to do more hills in this area. | tumpawumpa | 10/07/2009 |
Had a hill bagging day in Shropshire, bagged The Wrekin first in full cloud, and then Stiperstones, Hazler Hill, Ragleth Hill and Brown Clee Hill in perfect sunshine and heat. This hill is a lot better then Shropshires highest Brown Clee Hill and should be the county top, Trigs a bit awkward to get at. | DanTrig | 27/06/2009 |
With Alby and Chris. Six Shropshire Summits. | Stuart Hyde | 13/06/2009 |

Parked in carpark to SSE. Brilliant sunshine, heavy frost and valleys full of fog. Excellent summit. What a great place to be. | Father Ted | 29/11/2008 |
During a weekend in Church Stretton with Lunty & Smithy. From the car park due S on a foggy day, up the path & the mild scramble on to various blocks on the spine of the ridge. Continued to Devil's Chair & dropped around side of Green Hill for a quick pint in the village. Then back up on the ridge by which point the sun had come out revealing a temperature inversion for as far as the eye could see. All of the Shropshire Marilyns & Welsh hills poking up through the sea of cloud as the sun set & dusk fell. Absolutely stunning! | NotReallyABagger | 29/11/2008 |
hill 2 of 6on the 37mile ldw. Nice easy path to the top and a good scramble to the trig point. Then off to Long Mynd | wee mac | 14/06/2008 |

Because of the extreme temperature -13C left car at Bridges Shropshire Way to the Stiperstones ridge. Then headed south to trig which was mounted on a 20ft rock outcrop. The icy rocks made this more interesting than normal. | garyhoney | 29/12/2000 |

Walked a long time ago, with a group from my then work. Impressive top. | Fwapp | 06/06/1995 |
From the cp to the SSE. We went via Gatten Plantation then stayed on the moor, using very thin tracks. They may be more worn now but in 1995 we might have been better joining the Shropshire Way above the Hollies. Lots of butterflies - Green Hairstreaks, Small Heaths on the E slopes-on a hot hazy day, then a good 2km along the ridge, going on the Devil's Chair and the summit, Manstone Rock. An excellent hill of great character. With Pete and Mom, who went a remarkable pink colour in the heat, but walked well as always. | pwheeler | 06/05/1995 |

A great - easy hill from the carpark in the south.
Loads of tops to explore - like little tors and endless bilberry patches.
