| After Seagar Hill, went back down the footbath and then up a forestry track to avoid a farmer in the adjacent field. Lots of CCTV and no trespassing signs. | From 622379, gate entrance ruined by recent forest lorries. Parked a little further west in next wide gate entrance. Up old Row to ridge. Turned left along ridge to top. | Parked at SO 6116 3787 (just S of the junction) as forestry work had temporarily closed the road above that. On the hill itself I approached the summit from the SE - needed to get over a gate to reach the trig and then a fence to get back onto the track to the summit. | Parked in the usual spot and hiked up. Beware that new signs aplenty regarding CCTV and high fences installed. Lots of hunting perches around too (and no shortage of pheasant to shoot). | From SO 622379 - the path going up from here is thin and could be difficult to find in descent - it meets the ridge at about 70m E of a small transmitter mast. The path W along the ridge is blocked by two staggered and locked unscalable gates - the stagger allows them to be bypassed without difficulty, but then a BWF has to be negotiated to reach the trig. | Stealth bag at the end of the day. Parked by Park Coppice in the gateway to a forestry track a few metres along from the start of the FP. Best not use this parking place during working hours, as there is work above. The FP is nice, narrow and steep, and joins a scruffy, grassy vehicle track, which runs to the top of the hill. | Parked at the top of the lane that goes through Durlow common. 627387. Followed the ROW to where it crosses the ridge and then followed the vehicle track along the ridge to the highest point. There is a long, nearly level summit ridge running SE-NW with a track almost on the summit line. The trig point is not at the highest point. | There is room for 2 or 3 cars at SO622379, from where a RoW leads up to the ridge. From the ridge the SE top is only 150 metres away, and the main summit is about 1.4km to the NE. The ridge is wide and clear, and open to horse riders 'with a licence' - so why not to walkers too? In the event I went to the summit and back without any problem. | I tried routes from the north, but there were shooting parties out. A polite request at the Estate Office for access at a better time of year was met with the rudest refusal I have ever had. The Estate Manager ostentatiously recorded my car registration number as I left: I decided not to go back and tell him I was changing the car the following week!
