25km trail running from Wendover library car park - Haddington Hill, Pavis Wood & Coombe Hill. Saw a muntjac on the way down Haddington Hill in the dark with just me and my headtorch. | Fionalevey | 08/11/2019 |
With Val. From car park in Wendover Woods. Short walk to flat summit with plaque marking highest point. To make a bit more of a walk of it we went on to the Pavis Wood county top. Good weather. | mike.hoult | 02/10/2019 |
Collected both Wendover and Pavis Woods tops together. Good weather for the walk. | acolling | 14/09/2019 |
Walking the County Tops of Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. One way followed route suggested by Muir, but made it a circular for the way back. | bgalon | 25/08/2019 |

Lazy bag from the car park. | NormanW | 26/07/2019 |
Part of circular walk including Herts high point in Pavis Wood SW of Tring. From Herts 'peak', walked to opposite SW corner of Pavis Wood, exited west to an open area called The Crong. Turned south along road, then right path to Wendover Woods. Bucks high point is marked by a cairn stone (highest point of Chilterns) on eastern boundary of wood. No discernible 'peak' here but at least it is marked. | timbo99 | 10/07/2019 |
1/2 Quick drive by on way to driving to friends in Bedfordshire, parked in go ape and was able to leave without paying having only stopped for 15 minutes | penbet | 29/06/2019 |
Nice 25km circular from Wendover. | atreides7887 | 14/04/2019 |
Walked from Costa Café in Wendover. Top very flat, but has Cairn with plaque to prove which is the exact spot. Lazy people could drive to within 50m of the summit. | IanHHill | 27/03/2019 |
Loop from Wendover station. A revisit for the sake of the Cambridge hillwalking club's 'climb all the county tops in a year' project. | Mark Jackson | 24/03/2019 |
On own. From new Forestry Commission car park in Wendover Woods along new exit road then into woods to boulder and plaque which is close to forest edge. Had planned to continue walk to Pavis Wood but lack of time meant ended up driving. | Beeliner | 22/03/2019 |
Started from Forestry Commission car park at Wendover Woods. Followed 'Chiltern Hills high point' sign along footpath to marker stone with plaque. | Eliza100 | 06/03/2019 |

Lunch search in the woods...easy leg stretch once located the path. | N.Morters | 08/01/2019 |
Decided to do this one after a skiing lesson in Milton Keynes. Upon exiting the car we were greeted by the sound of screaming kids! The cafe was shocking so opted for a quick visit to bag the summit then headed off to find a nice farm shop cafe just down the road. | Jephcote83 | 05/01/2019 |
The road through Wendover woods is a N-S one-way toll road with the entrance at SP 891101 and the exit at SP 898083. One can avoid the toll by parking for free near the exit gate at SP 897083 and walking, on the toll road, in a northerly direction to the summit | Isbjorn | 10/11/2018 |
Summit with Anita whilst staying in Aldbury | Ghibli | 05/11/2018 |
A very easy walk from Wendover woods car park. We made the trip more worthwhile by walking to nearby Aston hill and back. | suzannerowcliffe | 02/11/2018 |
A hill walk in reverse - start at/ near summit then descend (via Coombe Hill trig to near golf club in this case). Woods quite pleasant. Hill bagged & car journey back 'up North' - similar to Gill's experience trying to get to M1 via Milton Keynes (following not brilliant signage) was purgatorial - possibly best to ignore motorway signs and use the A5 till north of town. | ger | 31/10/2018 |
'Climbed' while staying local to attend the Geolympix | ey up me duck | 26/10/2018 |
5th hill of 6 on Stage 7 of the Ridgeway walk with Lesley, having detoured off to climb Whiteleaf Hill, Pulpit Hill, Beacon Hill and Coombe Hill, this would be the longest detour of the trip, from the minor lane junction with Hengrove wood i took the lane then a footpath that traverses a large field leading to a permissive path through the woods then abandoning this for some fruiteless wandering. One of the vaguest Marilyns I would imagine. Boulder with plaque bagged but road through the woods seems higher but then is this natural? Back along the forest tracks and back to Lesley who had been patiently waiting for me... | Dazingdale | 27/09/2018 |
From new car park along new exit road then into woods to boulder and plaque. £2.20 I think is minimum charge. | mart0797 | 14/08/2018 |

Walk with good views to W of car park | Ben Tindal | 01/07/2018 |
Parked in the building site which is a result of the ongoing refurbishment. Not straightforward to find the path given the building work going on. Brass plaque located and then on to Pavis Wood. | Buck | 20/06/2018 |
Cycled from home. Combined with a trip to Pavis Wood. | tsharp | 21/05/2018 |
From the cafe out to the cairn | Mariana Trench | 13/05/2018 |
Reasonably quiet today. Not straightforward to find the path as there is a lot of building work going on. Escape was more straightforward. | dal | 16/04/2018 |
Awful! It reminds me of Whinlatter Forest and all the other touristy theme parks that spoil the English countryside. Dreadful. Couldn't escape quick enough! Solo. | Dangerous Dave | 17/02/2018 |
From the car park to the N by way of Coombe Hill trig point. Then on to Pavis Wood | DanMaisieBex | 12/02/2018 |

Night hike from Berkhamsted that involved a bit of wild camping and a lot of sheltering from the rain. Had actually been within a few metres of the summit for a couple of hours, but too dark/wet to see it! | DanHolme | 22/07/2017 |
The last Marilyn of the day, towards sunset on a blindingly hot day. Wendover Woods seems to be closed after 8.30 pm, so I parked just down the hill from the trig point path. The trig point doesn't seem to be very useful, as there isn't much of a view. Into the woods, on a track and then the forest road, and then found an overgrown, scritchy-scratchy path along the fence to the summit boulder. The easier way back was towards the car park to pick up the forest road. The main challenge with southern Marilyns is the driving, and not the walking. Heading home involved circumnavigating the roundabouts of Milton Keynes to get to the M1. Not nice. | Gill | 08/07/2017 |
