From Dumbleton following Bridleway to point just in the woods past Dumbleton Hill Farm. Up a farm track to the top. Lovely weather today. There was party out pheasant hunting but didn't hold us up.ChinnockC28/01/2024
Alderton Hill and Dumbleton Hill from Dumbleton, using the bridleway and then the track up from SP005345 to reach Alderton Hill, and on the way back cutting up Dumbleton Hill and then down to the ROW N of that hill. Was made to wait on the bridleway for some time because a pheasant shoot was underway - luckily after that they all went to lunch and I was able to proceed, although a little more circumspect than usual about the trespasses required to gain both summits!Mark Jackson12/11/2022
Dreary and overcast for my first bagging trip of the year but it certainly was very enjoyable to be getting out and about once again today.Alex C25/01/2022
Via Frampton Farm. Shade-seeking sheep couldn't be bothered to run away. Weather and surroundings reminiscent of France.Wycombe Wanderer17/07/2021
Dropped off at Woolas Hall. Followed Wychavon way to tower and Bredon Hill highpoint for fine views. Continued on to Ashton under Hill then over to bag Dumbleton Hill and Alderton Hill. Hassled by over active game keeper and his camera phone while i was on right of way. He’d spotted me on the hill. I explained I’d got a little lost. Don’t be intimidated by these people.Pete West16/04/2021
From Dumbleton Hill. They were working on the notheast side of the wood putting stone and rubbish on the track. So I took the paths skirting the woods to the west entering woods at SP 01293 34658.DC11main14/04/2021
Easy roadside parking opposite RoW to SSW at SP 0014 3333 - Along path & then bridleway to 'crossroads' at 005345 - E. up farm track (not RoW) to grassy mound on E. side of farm gate. (S)gerrybowes31/03/2021
With K from Dumbleton, parked on main road by church. Bit trespassy but no problemsAshley07/09/2019
Via pedestrian, broken gate W of the summit into pheasant enclosure.Eddie07/07/2019
After Dumbleton Hill up track past Hill Farm until it met wood at top. Followed fence/tree line between ploughed fields to top. Then to trig on hill 700m to NNE.Aye Jimmy02/03/2019
From Dumbleton village, parked at church. Uneventful late afternoon stroll. Great views all round. Warren Hill trig impressive. With Jenx and Bryhernordicstar02/01/2019

From Dumbelton via pleasant parkland. Busy with people doing estate management tasks; burning brash on the track I intended to use. Thought about asking permission but in the end, sneaked up from the S. From 00873430 the way that appears clear even on the 1/50K map is. I didn't even have to touch any fence. Took my chance with the W ridge down- this is really attractive and the views in front were excellent; hedgerow and planted cover seemed admirable with lots of native shrubs. OK- estate workers presumably all having lunch. Return by Perrots Hill/ Field Farm bridleway- all adds up to 4 miles and 2h.pwheeler13/03/2017
Detour from approx SP008343 whilst walking the Ashton-under-Hill to Winchcombe section of the old Wychavon Way. (The way was re-routed in 2012 and now ends in Broadway instead). Through one pheasent pen gate and by field edge to gate at summit. Decent views south.milimana24/07/2016
From The Warren, across col then up through open woodland with mesh fences and pheasant pens all looking a bit derelict and unused. Very fine views S to Nottingham Hill and Cleeve Hill from field on W side of summit. Green fields and pale blue skies in soft evening light. Down W side of hill to bridleway via gate open.RichardM10/02/2016

The whole of Alderton Hill is a pheasant nursery! Trespass required to get anywhere near the summitjonglew18/08/2012
I parked at Dumbleton Hotel and over to this one - it is a tresspassy one and there is a "no right of way" on the gate leading to the hill. I skirted round the hill to the left and therefore did not see the sign ;) - it is a steep climb up with no defined path - Pillar is in good condition and is located within a group of young beech trees, and surrounded in lots of nettles - some good views to be had from the top. I came down the North side, with hindsight this would of been an easier way up too.griefmiester08/06/2012
Parked in Alderton and made via paths to within 400m of the top. Had to ignore very prominent no right of way signs to bag this hill by following path passed no entry sign then up field edge to hole in pheasant fence and no problem bagging top really.Dugswell205/03/2012
Parked on main road. Followed path near school to the junct with the Wychavon Way then track to top 12:10chrisbien05/12/2011
The dumb-blonde estate clearly don't want you to go there. It is hard to sneak when flocks of pheasants fly up and squawk as you pass.Martin R20/08/2011
ascended via the excellent bridleway at so 99897 33397, which takes you to main pathway on the hill. Large amount of fencing around with numerous pheasants present.hodder02/05/2011
From Alderton. Lots of pheasants.destaylor19/09/2010
Followed private road from Dumbleton and then headed through the woods/phesant pens to the gate which seems to be positioned at the highest point. Fortunately no game keepers about today!Herbert Anchovy06/08/2010

Parked in Alderton and made via paths to within 400m of the top. Had to ignore very prominent no right of way signs to bag this hill. Just before reaching the car the rain came down great.garyhoney17/03/2002
pleasant parkland plod, pleasant well-kept landscape in view. 017355, private rd to Hill Fm then pasture edge to summit @203RHW02/04/2000
Done with trig long before anyone else. Don't recall trouble with pheasant farm and privacy issues back then that folk talk of now.vegibagger30/08/1998
