Parked SX 60091 91142 at end of driveable road. SIMMS on Dartmoor: Hangingstone Hill > Cut Hill > High Willhays. Progress on tracks much faster than off them. Boggy and rough ground everywhere.Peter_W_Mitchell 24/08/2023
From Fernworthy reservoir via Sittaford Tor, Cut Hill and Black Hill to complete my English SiMMs. Route back was much easier than way out to Cut Hill.PeterD17/08/2023
Walk from Okehampton Station to complete my English Simms. Good tracks to Hangingstone Hill then rough ground to Cut Hill via Black Hill.RobB16/08/2023
Run from Belstone over Steeperton Tor the ascent of which wasn’t pleasant as I lost the path in the tussock grass. From Steeperton to Hangingstone Hill was much easier with a good path. However the out and back to Whitehorse hill was a quagmire with lots of pools despite the dry weather. Took a photo of the peat pass memorial stone. Headed back but this time followed the track to Oke Tor and Belstone Tor where I took another lane into the village to the car. Time taken 2 hours 10 minutes for 11.3 miles. Saw Buzzard and Kestrel along with Stonechats and Meadow Pipits. Weather clear blue skies and warm.isabelle17/10/2021
From Okehampton - Belstone Tor, East Mill Tor, Steeperton Tor, Hound Tor, Hangingstone Hill, Black Hill, Cut Hill, Brown's House Top, Higher White Tor and Longaford Tor. Camped near the top of Longaford Tor before descending to Princetown from where I added South Hessary Tor while waiting for the bus. 41.5km, much of it boggy, tussocky, pathless toil in unrelenting rain and wind. Highlight was getting the tent up, changing into dry clothes and crawling into my sleeping bag.Herbert Anchovy07/08/2021
A walk into the wild centre of North Dartmoor from Fernworthy Reservoir, through the forest and out to the ruin of Teignhead Head Farm. Then across the wet tussocky moors visiting Hangingstone Hill, Black Hill, Cut Hill and via path by boundary posts to Sittaford Tor. Extremely tough going in many places underfoot – wet and tussocky. 19km with 480m ascent in 5 hours. Solo.silveracorn_alan01/08/2021

2-day route from Belstone, with outstanding bright conditions on day 1. Cosdon Hill, Hound Tor, Steeperton Tor, Hangingstone Hill (also visiting Whitehorse Hill summit), crossing to Cut Hill, then Black Hill(camping by the top). Return via Belstone Tor (climbing all the tops in the summit area).RobertP30/12/2019
Round of Hangingstone Hill, Cut Hill, High Willhays and Yes Tor from parking at East Okement Farm. Torrential rain. Solo round in fell running gear but not possible to run on much due to difficulty of terrain (uneven clumps of grass). Several water crossings. Deep mud in parts. 14 miles total in 4hrs 15min.axoree19/12/2019

Good long walk out from South Zeal over Cosdon Hill. Back from HH via Steeperton and Belstone Tor with Jenx and Bryhernordicstar30/03/2019
A romp along the army track from Steeperton Tor. A messy summit with army hut and less than natural looking flattened area of rocks and grass with small cairn. To add to the confusion Whitehorse Hill to the S appears to be a very similar height. So off to Whitehorse Hill we go. Other visits on:- 06-02-1982, 01-05-1983,RichardM30/03/2019
Over Wild Tor, which was interesting, then onto Hangingstone, not so pretty.jenx30/03/2019

Solo walk from Okehampton YHA to Bellever YHA as a teenager. Heading in to this huge wilderness gave me a sleepless night with excitement, and it didn't disappoint.Jake99425/07/2005
Retrospectively logged with the help of the date written in Terry Bound's A-Z of Dartmoor Tors. long before the existence of web sites like this. In most cases only my first visit is recorded. This was part of our North to South crossing of the Moor. Done on the longest day in June.Anthony Vosper22/06/2003
