Easy up-and-down from A35 roadside parking in the village. We took the good path from the road west and climbed up to the featureless summit. Average views on a grey morning. The last Dorset Marilyn for us. This was the second hill of the day. Earlier we bagged The Knoll and afterwards we drove to and bagged Shipton Hill. | DanTrig | 11/03/2024 |
Complete contrast to earlier Lambert's Castle. No one else there possibly because it looks like it's often very soggy. Frozen today. | Newton Maximus | 16/01/2024 |
Parked in the layby to the east of the hill. Nice walk up. Underwhelming summit, but great views of Golden Cap and out to sea to the north. | islamidget | 26/09/2023 |
Parked in a layby on the minor road due E. Top was in cloud but found the copse and wandered around in the heather due N. Descended to the SE, crossed the main road and up to Langdon Hill and Golden Cap, where the cloud began to lift with some limited coastline visible. Returned via Shedbush Farm as time was getting short. With Gillian. | richard69 | 28/07/2023 |
With Lesley. Parked east side went from north to south.. decent views. | Nick Canute | 19/05/2023 |

From Stonebarrow Hill car park. With Sue. | Phreerunner | 23/03/2023 |
From the bakery. Walked east and up the right hand minor road then left onto lane and followed path up to ridge. Up to summit then off west and down lane, crossed over A35 at crossing, then slightly right then down lane to left and up over Golden Cap, back around Langdon Hill Car oark track, then back along paths to road beside bakery. 4.8 mile loop. | JulieB | 24/02/2023 |
Managed to park at junction of Verriots's Lane and Gibb's Lane.

With J during a few days in Somerset. After Lewesdon Hill on a showery day. Parked by the bakery on the A35, W along the road & then up the minor road & on to the RoW. Rather an indistinct top but it is worth wandering around the plateau for the views in various directions. Back by the same route & then on to Lyme Regis for a wander along the beach & ice cream. | NotReallyABagger | 06/10/2020 |

2/5 From farm shop carpark, out and back. No rain, breezy. | Rounsfell | 27/06/2020 |
From lay-by on A35 next to Moore's Biscuit Bakery opposite Annie's tea shop. West along main road, then up Gibbs Lane to foot path on up to the copse. Proper saturated peat bog. Completed circuit by returning by path down to Ryall Road then by Sun Lane which emerges beside Annie's. Nice saunter around, but the top least pleasing. Bakery better though. | Pete West | 21/02/2020 |
Parked in a layby East in Ryall. Footpath leads up towards the mast where it meets a track going South towards a small copse. HP in heather just North of this copse. | fosal29 | 30/10/2019 |

4/5 Marilyn Day. Walked up the footpath from the road. | silveracorn_alan | 29/10/2018 |
Clockwise circuit from Moores biscuit shop on A35. Misty on the hill, making for an inauspicious entry into the Marilyn Hall of Fame. Impoved by a couple of celebratory pints of Palmers in the Anchor Inn at Seatown. | KeithByTheC | 11/09/2018 |
Really nice hill. Pity about the mist and drizzle. | Topographer57 | 11/08/2018 |
Parked in layby E of summit, just S of Ryall. Easy bag on public footpaths | Crib Goch | 06/05/2018 |
Circular run from Stonebarrow Hill - Hardown Hill - Golden Cap and back along coast path. Golden Cap is the best hill of the three! | twg27 | 06/05/2018 |
Parked in a small layby to the east of the hill, and took a steep footpath upwards, part of which has been recently strimmed. Unfortunately, the top part could do with the same treatment. This emerges on a track around the summit, but there's a shortcut up a small flinty path. Headed towards the summit through the plantation, and stood on the turf wall. Also visited the highest looking bits of moor below the wall, so I don't have to come back, it's not exactly a great hill. | Gill | 24/01/2018 |
With K from north. Peasant hill with moorland summit. | Ashley | 17/11/2017 |
1/8M early am from ryall up steep path to the top. | robertphillips | 07/11/2017 |
With Val. Parked in layby south of Ryall. Walked along road for short distance then turned left onto ROW and up to access land. Summit not obvious but found it OK. Weather good | mike.hoult | 06/11/2017 |

From Carter's Lane to SE | Tony J | 18/02/2017 |
Nice easy short walk from road and layby to south of Ryall. Turning left off road path signposted to right contouring round the summits NE flank. At boundary to Open Access I turned left at path junction then headed straight over heather to summit, though if stay on path for a little longer will pick up vehicle track which heads south taking you more or less to summit on your left.
Highest point is on fence line to west of coppice. Wandered around coppice looking for higher natural high point which I reckon is adjacent to highest point on fence line mentioned above. | mntainman | 19/12/2016 |
Start of days walk from Morecombelake, walked up road from village to NT notice board, then took path via mast to the pine wood. Walked around in circles following satnav. Returned to mast and followed path north down to Ryall. | Buteobuteo | 24/11/2016 |
Circular walk with Golden Cap. | tomd4 | 03/11/2016 |
Parked on small lane to East and followed track up towards the common land. Once you are near summit the going is hard with heather and lumpy ground. Takes some working out. Reasonable path to take us North and back in a circle afterwards. | nickywood1 | 08/09/2016 |
Parked at 404948 opposite bungalow followed footpath a few tens of metres south up onto National Trust land. Nice hill. | rogreeves | 30/08/2016 |
With Wendy. From right angle bend on narrow lane to south west - parking for 2 cars if you are lucky. Easy and enjoyable. | ijpowell | 24/07/2016 |

Parked roadside at SY 4060 8474. Took steep path up from there (recently cut brambles). Operated ham radio from near the Vodafone mast compound on the summit. Watch out for dog excrement...there was loads of it about much to my chagrin... | G4OBK (Phil) | 13/02/2015 |
Parked in a layby east of the hill. The hill top is owned by the NT as its heathland, but I couldn't help thinking why wasn't I walking over Golden cap on the coast. | mindlessflogger | 26/08/2014 |
Squeezed into a widening of the road S of Ryall, went up a lane then paths worn through bracken on SE side. Good track over heathland to W, < 1m below summit. I'd rather be on Golden Cap. | pwheeler | 26/06/2014 |
The dyke seems to be the highest point. | bolton | 22/03/2014 |
Room for 3 cars in small parking area (408942) on minor road at S. end of Ryall – Walked NNW along minor road for about 500m to Byway sign – SW up track to NT sign – Take track on the left and head S. past transmitter to W. side of copse – E. across the heather for about 50m to the highest point on the dyke. (Solo) | gerrybowes | 18/02/2014 |
Had to use GPS to find Doug's car park spot in Ryall. When I got there someone had parked a 30 foot rowing boat in it! Rough top, heather bank by plantation. | mick | 29/08/2013 |
Parked in Morcombelake, great views. | Simon | 06/10/2012 |
Tortuous route up through brambles and gorse. Found trod on descent. Camped at Five Bells where shower and friendly folk. | Eddie | 17/07/2012 |
W Jenx, from roadside park in gate at 406947, cut up permitted track and at T junction another track past aerial to copse. Top clearly to NE on raised bank. Use track to return, paths are cut into gorse/heather and muddy. Easy ascent this way. | nordicstar | 12/05/2012 |
Parked at 402954 (11:20) and took footpath across fields to village. Up Pitmans Lane, then signed path up hill to top (dyke near coppice). Descent via Ryall Road; finish 12:20 | dbb | 17/03/2012 |

Excellent lunch at The Bull in Bridport. V difficult parking in Morecomblake, may be better on main road. Up NW side, down S ridge. Top on embankment near copse. Lots of gorse, long trousers a must! Warm and sunny. | malcorbett | 03/05/2011 |
ENGLISH MARILYN 46. DRIVEN PAST NUMEROUS TIMES WITHOUT REALISING THIS HILL WAS HERE. VIEWS RIVAL THOSE FROM GOLDEN CAP. A SUPERB HILL AT SUNSET ON A BEAUTIFUL SPRING DAY AFTER DOING PILSDON PEN AND LEWESDON HILL. | BURGESS | 07/03/2011 |

Walked/ran from NT cottage at St Gabriel's and back in 40 minutes as I had to get back to go to my father's 70th birthday lunch. Got a bit of stick when I got back as my Sunday best was covered in mud and sweat. Nice hill though. | Herbert Anchovy | 03/05/2009 |

Difficult to place the exact top. Thought the ridge to the south of the wood seemed higher than the seat but stomped around a few places. | signyred | 21/06/2007 |
no parking on the minor roads but plenty on the main A road then a short walk to the top | Rhayader_wander | 26/05/2007 |
Suggest anybody driving here park in the village at the bottom of the hill unless they have a 4x4. Pleasent walk and some nice views. Summit not obvious, so wandered all over. | Greg | 05/05/2007 |
Galltywenallt | 26/03/2006 | |
There's space for a few cars on the roadside at SY 408 943. We reckoned the high point was on a bank hidden amongst the heather a bit east of the seat, but could be anywhere on this flat summit! Very pleasant hill though. | wheresthepath | 17/09/2005 |
