From Achintee House (S. of Fort William) walked along River Nevis then up Carn Dearg (With Mike Holding)River-Girl06/01/2009
an interesting route to take Jamie up Ben Nevis for the first time. From the bridge over the Nevis, walk along NE side of river to the old Graveyard and then head up Surgeons rib which is grade 3 scramble route with Surgeons gully on right, five finger gully on left. it comes out on to the beallach where one then heads 3-400m right to get to Murdo Carn Dearg South, which was main reason for choosing the route. Jamie says, 'Do we really have to go out to it?!!' 'You could always tell your friends that you went there anyway' i look at him aghast. 'Who would I be cheating if I did that', I say. No one elses knows or cares a fig whether I've really been there or not. The only person I'd be cheating would be me, because I would know.' he says no more as we we walk out to bag my Murdo prize before heading the further thousand feet up to the main ridge where we can see hundred of people snaking backwards and forwards on the tourist path. It is August bank Holiday Saturday!!vegibagger23/08/2008
with dad up Surgeons Rib from Glen Nevis, on busy bank holiday Saturday, out to Carn Dearg South with view of hundreds of people snaking along summit ridge above, up to the plateau and over to Carn Dearg North then up to the slightly misted summit with loads of people coming and going including a large group on a sponsored MacMillan nurse walk. On to Carn Mor Dearg via arette and back down to our midgy tent in fading light.trigpillocksson23/08/2008
With my grandson, Matthew. From the end of the road in Glen Nevis. We climbed up beside the waterslide and then crossed over the burn to climb up the east and then south ridge of Càrn Dearg (South-west). Lunch on the summit of Càrn Dearg. Continued to the summit of Ben Nevis. Descended on the tourist route to Glen Nevis Visitor Centre.pwbellarby23/07/2008

Solo. From car park at the end of the road in Glen Nevis. Went up bits of path vaguely beside the water slide of Allt Coire Eòghainn. I went into the coire and westwards to the col between Càrn Dearg (SW top) and Ben Nevis. I went S to reach Càrn Dearg. Descended roughly eastwards to the lip of the corrie and back down to the car park. I talked to some tourists and was able to show them Ben Nevis from the western end of the car park.pwbellarby23/10/2006

From end of the road up Glen Nevis to Steall, then up to Aonach Beag, Aonach Mor, Carn Mor Dearg and Ben NevisGallovidian04/06/1998
Quite a way out from the summit, and contouring back to the ascent path it's easy to see why people have difficulties in mist and descend too early into the gullies below.Aye Jimmy06/08/1996

With Jonathan Bellarby. From the car park at the head of Glen Nevis. We went up beside Allt Coirie Eoghainn, then crossed it and up the east ridge of Carn Dearg. Proceeded to the other Carn Dearg and went up to the summit of Ben Nevis. There were impressive views of cliffs. Continued to Carn Mor Dearg, Carn Mor Meadhonach, and Carn Beag Dearg. It was a fine and warm day with a gentle breeze. The entire ascent of Ben Nevis was done wearing shorts, boots and socks only!pwbellarby12/07/1983
