8 mile there-and-back walk from Black Hut car park, climbed steeply up wet path to Snaefell summit then returned to car park and followed great ridge over Clagh Ouyr, Beinn Rein and North Barrule, then back same way to car. Amazing views today of Scotland: Galloway Hills, you could easily see Merrick, Cairnsmore of Fleet, Corserine, Cairnsmore of Carsphairn and Criffel. England: Forest of Bowland and Lake District, you could easily see Black Combe. Northern Ireland: Antrim mountains and Mourne mountains you could easily see Slieve Donard, Slieve Commedagh and Slieve Binnian. Wales: you could see Anglesey Holyhead Mountain and Ireland: you could just make out the Irish coast not to mention the whole of the Isle of Man. Afterwards drove around to and bagged Carraghan, Beinn-Y-Phott and Mullagh Ouyr. A few people about.DanTrig20/10/2019

Up from Ramsey. Took path round Eastern edge of Ballure Plantation and then up slopes of North Barrule, fences are not well maintained so no problems despite no path. Took ridge to Clagh Ouyr, wind was fearsome. Down to Black Hut on A18 to Black Hut. Up slopes to Snaefell. Windy and cloudy on top so took railway track down to bungalow (trains don't run in winter). Down to old mine (boggy and no path) and then followed track to Laxey.tsharp01/01/2016

Along ridge on path and a section of duck boarding to Beinn Rein and then North Barrule. Continued on path downwards. Eventually lost it and came out at corner of a minor road and track to Park Lewellyn. Cloud down all way until coming down Beinn-y-Phott, Snaefell in cloud but dropped out coming down to Black Hut.
