From parking place (1 car only) just below cattle grid at SH 765 457. Along RoW across to Llyn Conwy, around the tarn to the stone hut and then directly up to summit. Fine view from the top. I was Dewey bagging, but only realised after coming onto the hill bagging site somewhat later that the East top beat this one by a few cm! So another trip will be in order on a future visit! 5km to the west top and back with 160m of ascent, taking 1.5h. (S)silveracorn_alan20/09/2020

With Rufus. Pen y Bedw East & West from Llyn Conwy track on B4407. Clockwise loop of the lake, hard work and mostly path less. Lots of bog, heather and tussocky ground and stream/bog between the E and S tips really difficult to navigate, best sticking to higher ground and probably a better experience from Penmachno. Excellent views of the Snowdon Horseshoe.jacobrichmond23/03/2020
Parked at 765457 as others. Sat in the car for an hour waiting for the rain to stop. It didn't so I trudged out anyway. Followed the path by the fence which turns 90 degrees left to a ladder stile. From there there was the occasional faint path but mostly heather bashing to Llyn Conwy then mostly pathless first to Pen y Bedw E. Top and then the W.Top. The brisk wind was behind me on the way out but once I turned round it was pretty unpleasant.clivevilla20/02/2019

3385 and 3386. Parked as MT Pont Elen. Started following the fence easily then heather turned up. Couldn't find the path even with GPS with 1:50 on it. Did a heather bash to the Llyn finding some bits of paths but not much. Then followed a wall up and then across heather to 3386. Good little path half way to 3385 - then heather. Returned towards the house on the Llyn at the end of the 'path' then on leaving the Llyn managed to find the path which is narrow and not as it appears on the map - tends to be to the South. Managed to follow it to 771 461 a stile. If had continued following the original fence on the way up and followed it past the 90 degree bend it would have taken me to the stile - then approximately on bearing of 30 degrees would have found it with some difficulty.destaylor13/10/2015

Approaching from the minor road to the west can only be described as challenging. The only hint of the path indicated on maps are the stiles at each end, the ground inbetween is uneven, squelchy and covered in heather. Only climb this hill if you need it for completing your own personal challenge - there are far better hills within view worth climbing.JohnStoneham06/05/2013
This is clearly the most visited of the two tops - since it's the only one with a cairn and a path of any sort. Parked at Pont ar Gonwy on B4407 and took track to Llyn Conwy. Going after that generally abysmal.chriswatson17/07/2012
On the way to the true summit of Pen y Bedw. See my logs for hill 3385, and my first visit here (on 2007 April 14).David Purchase22/03/2009
There was a good parking spot, though for only one car, at SH765453. The route did not conform to the RoW shown on OL18. As soon as you have crossed the wall at SH778465, go straight up to its highest point and then turn east. At the time, I thought this was the summit of Pen y Bedw, and so did not visit the true summit (see my log for 3385) until two years later.David Purchase14/04/2007
2.50pm -a challenging starting time in December for a horseshoe run over Foel Boeth and Pen y Bedw. (having been working on pre exp w/e)From N above Penmancho. Boggy and icy but magical clarity with a low sun in my eyes. Dusk gave a beautiful alpenglow. KIMM type horror underfoot of heather and tussocks then lovely 'twiggy' wood. for a 2 mile jog in the dark back along road- an outing that felt off the beaten track.Chris Pearson09/12/2001
