Ffridd yr Allt-llwyd & Dduallt - Arenig - from Cwm yr Allt-Lwyd. Left A470 at Bronaber and followed to road end hairpin just before Cwm-Hasgen. Continued straight on along farm track through 1 gate and parked on grass by Dol-cyn-Afon. Track over river and then E to walk at SH 80110 28855, followed wall NW to junction then across boggy ground to Ffridd yr Allt-llwyd - return to track along remains of wall as less boggy. Continued on track E to 2nd ford at Rhyd y Re (looks better than first ford and ground further E is horribly boggy so not worth looking for another crossing) through ankle deep water and then alongside fence on N ridge of Dduallt with snow above 600m, return the same, 3 hours round trip. A great remote mountain and will return to look at E face in a deep freeze. | jacobrichmond | 06/12/2020 |
Parked at end of the road in Cwm yr Allt-Lwyd. A (rough and boggy) round of Rhobell-y-big, Rhobell Ganol, Dduallt and Ffridd yr Allt-llwyd. | PGCE | 12/11/2020 |
2/4 Deweys from the end of the road in Cwm yr Allt-Lwyd at SH 788 292. Followed cart track easily past house and up to edge of moor, then across ridge which was tough going in the heather to Mynydd Bryn-llech, returned by edge of forest (slightly easier-ATV track) to cart track and then took a bee line to Ffridd yr Allt-Lwyd and back down to the car (all easy goingover this one). Then up south side of the valley, following indistinct track to where RoW crosses fence at SH 786 285 and on towards Rhobell Ganol, branching off before the marshy depression to go the splendid summit of Rhobell-y-big. Then sheep tracks across the depression and up to Rhobell Ganol. Finally back to the car using the indistinct RoW. (13km with 800m ascent in about 4h. (S) | silveracorn_alan | 19/09/2020 |

Interesting starting walk marginally higher than my target. From high point on Bala hill road down forest track then cut up through felled area (row is a mess). Once out of forest it is a pleasant walk to the summit. Mistake on returning was to try to cut through forest - twenty minutes to do 200m through windfall. | SS | 25/07/2018 |
From the parked car at 788293. An easy climb from Cwm hasgan. Solo. Headed to Bryn - llech. | bolton | 08/06/2018 |
Honestly, the most pointless hill of my life. I stood on top wondering why I was there. | dadofmorph | 21/04/2018 |
