Parked by church gate. Space for 2 cars max without blocking farm gates.PeteF02/01/2023
Parked the car on a grass square next to the stream 11862 30634 on the left hand fork in the minor road in between Moel Hen fache and Mynydd Mawr, following a bridle way first heading west then turning south to reach the base of Moel Hen fache from here it's only a couple of fields to the summit, retracing my steps back to the minor road turning right, after the fork in the road I followed the ROW over the stream on a footbridge to reach the bridle way west of Mynydd Mawr (the ROW seams to end just short so had to nip through Pen y Graig quickly) a couple of fields with gate leads up hill to the trig on Mynydd Mawr after regaining the Bridle way I headed due North tho reach minor roads walking past an outdoor centre to reach the car.Ten mile in Four hours.WAYNE ROWLETT30/10/2022

2/3 Dewey Day. Mynydd Mawr from Llanarmon Mynydd-mawr to the south. As others parked by church and followed bridleway a short distance west, then straight up by the fence. The plantation has now been cut down - logs by church, but the leylandii hedge remains. Summit is an excellent viewpoint! A short round trip of just 2km, but with a significant 250m ascent/descent, all done in 50 minutes. (S)silveracorn_alan15/08/2021
Parked at the church before heading west and up the western side of the planation. A steep pull to the summit with great views. Solo. One hour.bolton26/05/2021
Trig and both summits from the church. Through gate and up to left side of wood. Track through wood to gate into field. Up to top left of field, where there is a hurdle into summit field. No BW fences to cross.PGCE22/08/2020
Steeply uphill in blustery drizzle to Trig with adjacent small mound. Parked by church.Denise 04/08/2020
Walked up from the church as most others have. Good parking at church as well as a cut mark.RichardM04/08/2020
Nice late afternoon walk from Llanarmon church. PRoW for a short distance, then followed fenceline to the summit area. Great views.DanMaisieBex05/05/2019
From Llanarmon church with Pete, starting at 4 pm. RoW for a short distance, up by pasture W of plantation. Great views from HP, most of Shropshire and good close view of the Berwyns. We added a bit of interest by following the fence just below the WSW ridge and meeting the RoW higher up than we left it. The ridge is access land, but it would have required climbing a bw fence to get on it. However, there was nothing to discourage the ascent which wasn't on access land and mostly off RoWs. Another hill in mid-Wales where these classifications seem to matter little.pwheeler04/05/2019
From the church using Bridleway, t hen straight up beside woods and conifer hedge. More direct down. With R and B.jenx25/11/2018
Up from the Chapel, Bridleway for 2 fields then direct up side of plantation and leylandii hedge to gate at top and open fell. Great viewpoint, w Jenx and Bryher. Met an arriving Alan Fawson as we returned to car (directly down the hill to chapel)nordicstar25/11/2018
From the church as others along the W side of the fence. Returned down the E side of the fence and through wood, less easy W side.Jim.Fothergill23/11/2018

Wanted to climb this one for a while due to it's mediating role between the Berwyn Ridge and the Gyrn/Rhiwlas area. Some very boggy areas on top, pleasant and somewhat morbid atmosphere on this hill. Interesting history with it's connection to the beautiful church of St. Garmon in Llanarmon Mynydd Mawrtumpawumpa27/10/2016
Parked just down from the church in Llanarmon Mynydd-Mawr and followed the track upwards to just past where the edge of the plantation is. Followed the fence uphill, quite steep for the whole way. Crossed a fence and then a further fence, barbed wire top strand this one. Walked to top. Dropped down to Pen-y-graig then Tyn-y-fron. Out to road and S down it to where a footpath goes off to Carreg-ddu. Missed it and came up to Carreg-ddu from the S. Difficult at farm. Ankle deep in liquid manure. Up track to N of Carnedd-y-forwyn. SW to Moel Hen-fache. Down S to track bordering Pen-y-bryn Hall and out to road at Tyn-y-celyn Ochr. Followed road to Penfforddwen then field paths and footbridge to Pen-yn-glyn and back to Llanarmon Mynydd-Mawr.MikeM06/09/2016
Parked next to church gate in Llanarmon Mynydd-mawr at SJ13518 27940 - Along bridleway for about 200m & then up alongside fence past copse to fence junction - Over small gate to RHS of BWF & short walk to summit. (S)gerrybowes16/06/2016
From Llidiart-cae-hir to the north through fields (either open or climb) with one bwf ironically within the CROW act land. Very pleasant stroll with good parking.SS04/06/2016

from bwlch adwy wynt along the upper ceriog way and llidiart cae hir. numerous gates and fences but the trig point sits on a grand little ridge. which drops away dramatically. the ground nearby is indeed slightly higher. trig is in good nick. views up cwm maen gwynedd are special to say the least - as is the startling view back to the gyrn.stig_nest27/08/2014
