From Clennel via various hills. The terrain from the footpath at the forest edge to the SE is pretty grim but only 400m or so. Then on to Bloodybush and Cushat.NormanW23/03/2024

From Nettlehope hill mainly on forest track- Where track loops SE, head NW over rough tussocky terrain and some heather (not trees as mapped) to HP by fencepost on NE summit (not where spot height marked on SW summit). Sunny, breezy and clear.Denise 07/03/2022
From forest road to SSE, vague path then up through the rough grass and heather. Fence running along the summit 'ridge' Descent into the wild and remote feeling Usway valleyRichardM07/03/2022

Alwinton - Yarnspath Law - Windy Gyle - The Middle - Middle Fell - Kyloe Shin - Shillhope Law - Alwinton. Icy morning, big of a damp trudge through the heatherGary Heath22/12/2020
From Alwinton. Up Clennell Street to Saughy Hill, Nettlehope Hill, Yarnspath Hill (both tops), Bloodybush Edge, Cushat Law, Wether Cairn, down by Allerhope Burn.PGCE11/12/2020
Straight up Clennell Street from Alwinton. Deep heather for the last few hundred metres to the summit.JohnR11/10/2020
A splendid but lengthy round of 4 Deweys and 2 Nuttalls from the cattle grid at NT 964 126. Followed the farm track to Hogdon Law, then cross country to the trig at Wether Cairn. The forest fence is then a clear if wet navigational aid over Cushat Law and Bloodybush Edge to Yarnspath Law. Made the mistake of trying to cut round the side of Bloodybush Edge above the forest to the Salters Road at NT 904 157. Very deep heather with hidden ditches, I would have been far better going down Uswayford and along the FP to the Satler's Road, I am sure. From the pass a quick out and back to Lint Lands, then east down the Salter's Road to the road alongside the R Breamish to Low Bleakhope. Keeping to the Salter's Road up to just before the field boundary where an ATV track takes one up to Shill Moor. Back to the road and along it to the starting point. Much of the walk gives one a feeling of remoteness and good views of the surrounding hills. 27km with 1000m of ascent in 8 hours. (S)silveracorn_alan11/07/2020
We took the track from Shillmoor over Copper Snout to Saughgy Hill, then a 4x4 track on to Nettlehope Hill, before joining a forestry track heading north through recently felled and newly planted plantation - popping out just shy of Yarnspath Law (heavy heather until reaching a fence line with side path). Westwards and over the Usway burn by a footbridge just north of height 345. Return route was along good tracks, taking in The Middle, Kyloe Shin (great name), Shillhope Law, and Inner Hill. Gentle decline back to the start. Lovely walk, 4 hrs.summitter24/05/2019
Start ~ 865103, Wedder Leap Car Park. Followed track to Fairhaugh then forest road to Clennel St. Then up fence line to summit of Yarnspath Law, continuing to Bloodybush Edge. With Wombourne & Lynnette.steve hudson11/04/2019
Parked at GR 865103. Followed a good track to Fairhaugh then a forest road to Clennel and up to Yarnspath summit. We continued to Bloodybush Edge then returned by same route. With SH and LP.wombourne11/04/2019
From Barrowburn, via Fairhaugh and up onto Clennell Street; then up fence line along edge of where the forest was before it got felled. Very windy and rain all the way to the top. Harvey Map has the main summit on the other hillock to the OS Map. Bagged them both any way. Some nice views. Left summit via Bloodybush Edge.NorthernWayfarer07/10/2018

Wedder Leap car park & picnic area in Barrowburn - Over footbridge & along bridleway to Fairhaugh - Up forest tracks/Clennell Street to gate at edge of forest at 879128 - ATV track for much of way up to unmarked summit on E. side of fence. (PM)gerrybowes21/03/2018
Parked at Wedder Leap and took the path to Fairhaugh with GB. The forest road from Fairhaugh gives easy and quick access to 882125 and then NW before the climb NE to the summit. Just over 2.5 hours return. Forest work at the bridge but not a problem.bolton21/03/2018
From picnic site at Barrowburn, via Middle Hill, fording Usway Burn (easy with low water level), up slope to Yarnsparth Law, then on rough paths over Bloodybush Edge and then long walk out to Cushat Law. Retraced route to slope below Bloodybush Edge, then contoured lower slope of hill northish over rough heather to Salter's Road. Followed this good track to the border ridge, then SW to Windy Gyle and return to start via Rowhope. Quite a trek.Cas-gwent20/07/2017

Wedder Leap, Shilhope Law, Saughy Hill (NB FB on old 1:25,000 map at Batailshiel Haugh does not exist, but fortuitously there was a flood-wrecked bridge wedged across the river slightly north of here at the western edge of the enclosed land just south of The Castles - 877104) Nettlehope Hill, Yarnspath Law, The Middle, Middle Hill, Kyloe Shin, Barrowburn Tea Room closed at 4pm before I got there, Wedder Leapijpowell15/04/2016

Part of a round of Shillhope Law and Yarnspath Law. Parked in Barrowburn and from there followed tracks to the top of Shillhope Law. Steep descent to the Usway Burn NE of Batalshiel. Over the Castles and track to Clennel Street. Forest tracks to close to Yarnspath Law. Some off track walking over a mix of heather and hummock grass. Hard. Dropped down by edge of forest and crossed Usway Burn again and up to track going to Uswayford. Turned left and followed track and path back to Barrowburn.MikeM05/07/2015
From Wedder Burn up through the plantations from Fairhaugh. The key is to find the t. junction on the Border County Ride then up the fence at the forest edge. Flat heathery top.mick02/05/2014
