08:30, 6 degrees, (15 later) low cloud at Hartside but cloud lifting and warming up fast. Higher up, I saw Hedgehope Hill above a cloud inversion. On to Hogdon Law.Wycombe Wanderer13/05/2023
Parked at Hartside, bridleway past Alnhammoor, and round to go up the S shoulder. Misty from fairly low level. On to Cushat Law.LizH12/05/2023
From CP at Hartside, via private road to E ridge and back same way.IanHHill16/03/2023
Parked at picnic spot in lower Breamish Valley at NT 99415 16453, as ice stopped me driving further. Hiked up to Hartside, then taking the private road past Alnhammor to the start of the track up the hill at NT 95396 15715. Then followed this track up onto the NE ridge, where it turned SW, winding up nearly to the summit. Non-barbed, easy fence, and then I was on top. Return by outward route. 13.2km with 505m of ascent. With this hill climbed, I completed the Deweys and Dodds of England.Man of Kernow113/12/2022
Parked at Hartside. Nice easy walk clockwise circular walk on public bridleways. Met Fletch and interloper at the summit. Only three more English Deweys left to do now. Solo.Dangerous Dave16/12/2021
A Dodds, Dewey and Hump completion for section 33.softsquare21/10/2021
Parking at Hartside (NPBTP sign), Breamish valley, NT976162. Linhope, where challenged by gamekeeper (friendly) who gave me permission to access the FP/track trending WSW to meet the BW at NT954157 (perhaps one is expected to use the PF/BW via Alnhammoor?), then ATV TK from cattle grid on BW to top of Shill Moor. Descended fence N (rough veg, young trees growing on E side) to cattle grid, then up ATV TKs to Low Cantle, then largely no ground trail to High Cantle and Comb Fell, int. GT to Hedgehope Hill, unmapped int. waymarked PF to Dunmoor Hill, Cunyan Crags; hard to spot ground trail of BW SW near med. village, but improves as go SW to Linhope.Isbjorn25/09/2021
From Hartside, tar road to foot of hill then grassy at track to the top.NormanW12/09/2021
With K. Parked at cattle grid before Ewarty Shank and did loop with Cushat Law returning via Hogdon Law. Lots of folk about, shy estate workers and hikers.Ashley27/05/2021
From Hartside, though Linhope and then ATV track up from the NE. This goes all the way to the top with just the fence to cross to reach the cairn and trig.milimana27/05/2021
Parked at the end of the minor road at Hartside before initially aiming for Alnhammoor. I then picked my way up the Eastern side, aiming for the Salters Road track near to The Dod. I then left Salters Road heading North West towards Shill Moor at 528 metres above sea level. Quick snack and then moved on towards hill No 2: Cushat Law.JamesJones17/03/2021
Verge parking at Hartside. Ascent up the NE shoulder. Good track almost to the top from NT95391570.JohnR07/11/2020
Straight up the edge from Low Bleakhope. Early steep part was fine, harder after it levels out due to heather. Windshelter pointing in exactly the right direction, unusually. Along fence for a bit then found handy grass track down to Salter's Road.agentmancuso01/08/2020
A splendid but lengthy round of 4 Deweys and 2 Nuttalls from the cattle grid at NT 964 126. Followed the farm track to Hogdon Law, then cross country to the trig at Wether Cairn. The forest fence is then a clear if wet navigational aid over Cushat Law and Bloodybush Edge to Yarnspath Law. Made the mistake of trying to cut round the side of Bloodybush Edge above the forest to the Salters Road at NT 904 157. Very deep heather with hidden ditches, I would have been far better going down Uswayford and along the FP to the Satler's Road, I am sure. From the pass a quick out and back to Lint Lands, then east down the Salter's Road to the road alongside the R Breamish to Low Bleakhope. Keeping to the Salter's Road up to just before the field boundary where an ATV track takes one up to Shill Moor. Back to the road and along it to the starting point. Much of the walk gives one a feeling of remoteness and good views of the surrounding hills. 27km with 1000m of ascent in 8 hours. (S)silveracorn_alan11/07/2020
Parked at Hartside. Shill Moor, Cushat Law, Bloodybush Edge, Lint Lands, Comb Fell, Hedgehope Fell, Great Standrop (both tops), Ritto Hill.PGCE14/05/2020

Start ~ 965125, patch of dry ground before cattle grid, Ewarty Shank. Followed Salters Road to its high point on Shill Moor then took to the tussocks. Dry day with a fierce Westerly wind. With Wombourne.steve hudson09/10/2019
Parked at GR 965125 near cattle grid. Followed Salters Road to its high point then headed for the summit through heather and tussock grass. Strong winds gusting up to 30mph. With SH.wombourne09/10/2019
K The unexpected summit of shelter and large cairn sandwiching the trig is a lovely spot to take in the surrounding hills, with the fence making navigation easy in all weathers. Approached via improved Salters Road from Ewartly Shank and indistinct quad track from road summit (parked by bridge just S of farm, couple of spaces off road, though the road from Alnham is quite the worst I've driven on for some time explaining why no guide books start from here).crazy23/06/2019
With Jo, from cattle grid south of Ewartly Shank: along track to Shill Moor, returning on Salters Road past Ewartly Shank and onto Hart Law Trig before returning to car over High Knowes. Weather; sunny, cold wind, good visibility.amblerbob29/04/2019
From roadside parking at Hartside out through estate and over footbridge then ascent of ATV track on north east ridge. Returned by south east ridge (better not to) then back to outward route.SS16/04/2018
Parked on wide grass verge, 200yd before cattle grid at 965125 - Up road & then permissive path around right edge of Ewartly Shank - Salters Road to 947145 & then up to summit cairn, making use of ATV tracks. Continued to Lint Lands, Cushat Law & Wether Cairn. (PM)gerrybowes20/03/2018
Parked SE of cattle grid 965126. 1st of 3 Deweys from Salters road with GB. Headed to Lint Lands. Great weather - clear and bright on the snow.bolton20/03/2018
Started from Hartside. Windy but blue skies. A little bit of snow left. Road at first to Alnhammoor, then track to base of hill, then easy quad bike tracks to the summit over Scaud Knowe. Descended via quad bike tracks to road and followed tracks across road to the Ford but found myself on a private path at Linhope. Managed to get onto public right of way to Linhope Spout before returning to Hartside.NorthernWayfarer20/02/2018
Reached whilst walking the Northern Crossway, instead of going round Shill Moor past Bleaklhope we detoured up and down the side of Shill Moor.WAYNE ROWLETT26/06/2017

Part of a round of Shill Moor, Lint Lands, Comb Fell, Hedgehope Hill and Dunmoor Hill. Parked at Hartside. Used a series of paths, quad bike tracks, tracks, metalled road and some heather bashing.Path up to top of Hedgehope Hill quite dry at moment, a pleasant surprise. Crossed Breamish at NT 91109E 17090N. Good day, saw no one, superb views.MikeM26/05/2015
