From Yarnspath Law via Uswayford and Glay Burn. Nice to be in some trees. Bagged the uninspiring summit and sat down in the sunshine on Salter's Road to eat my sandwiches. On to Great Standrop. | Wycombe Wanderer | 13/05/2023 |
From Hartside. Took the private road, tarmac all the way to High Bleakhope, then track up the upper Breamish valley. Then climbed up to the col on the grassy Salters Road. From there an ATV track by a fence leads up to the flat, featureless and boggy summit plateau. Return by outward route. Solo.
21.1km, with 565m of ascent. | Man of Kernow1 | 07/10/2022 |
Twelve and half mile from Weber leap car park visiting Yarnspath law via Fairhaugh and onto Lint lands via Uswayford returning to the car via the Border county ride traversing Barrow law, Five and a quarter hours. | WAYNE ROWLETT | 09/01/2022 |
Parked at Hartside. Walked the road to Bleakhope which is tarmac and well maintained. Track continues up to the conifers. A short section over heather gets you to the top. | Andrew Simmons | 01/11/2021 |
Parking at cattle grid before Ewartly Shank NT963126 after 2 miles of potholes. Excellent ATV TK to Hogdon Law. ATV TK continues, poorer, SW, but dives off R when hags carpeted by energy sapping deep soft veg encountered (direct, 4.5 out of 5 where 5 = purgatory), mitigated by my stumbling upon a linear grough (suspect ATV TK works around, R, to fence jcn at NT942120). ATV TK to Wether Cairn and back, then on around fences to Cushat Law, Bloodybush Edge via ATV TKs from good to dire quality. Down to Salters Road, out to Lint Lands and back, then along Salters Road to parking. Salters Road is not a breeze, grassy parts are slippery, non-grassy parts are loose rubble and it makes three descents and re-ascents, each smaller, fortunately. | Isbjorn | 26/09/2021 |
Room for a couple of cars at the cattle grid 1km S of Ewartly Shank. Farm track > Hogdon Law, then across > Wether Cairn, then followed fences > Cushat Law > Bloodybush Edge > Lint Lands. Returned via Salter's Road. Reasonably solid under foot after a very dry April but expect lots of boggy bits most other times. | JohnR | 24/04/2021 |
From Bloodybush Edge, down & up. Back down to Salter's Road for walk out via Shill Moor. | agentmancuso | 01/08/2020 |
A splendid but lengthy round of 4 Deweys and 2 Nuttalls from the cattle grid at NT 964 126. Followed the farm track to Hogdon Law, then cross country to the trig at Wether Cairn. The forest fence is then a clear if wet navigational aid over Cushat Law and Bloodybush Edge to Yarnspath Law. Made the mistake of trying to cut round the side of Bloodybush Edge above the forest to the Salters Road at NT 904 157. Very deep heather with hidden ditches, I would have been far better going down Uswayford and along the FP to the Satler's Road, I am sure. From the pass a quick out and back to Lint Lands, then east down the Salter's Road to the road alongside the R Breamish to Low Bleakhope. Keeping to the Salter's Road up to just before the field boundary where an ATV track takes one up to Shill Moor. Back to the road and along it to the starting point. Much of the walk gives one a feeling of remoteness and good views of the surrounding hills. 27km with 1000m of ascent in 8 hours. (S) | silveracorn_alan | 11/07/2020 |
Parked at Hartside. Shill Moor, Cushat Law, Bloodybush Edge, Lint Lands, Comb Fell, Hedgehope Fell, Great Standrop (both tops), Ritto Hill. | PGCE | 14/05/2020 |

From cattle grid (NT 9640 1266) solo 14 mile circular: Hogdon Law -> Wether Cairn -> Cushat Law -> Bloodybush Edge -> Lint Lands -> Shill Moor -> High Knowes. | jonglew | 08/11/2019 |
Parked at cattle grid GR 964 127. Good track goes around Hogdon Law and up to summit. Then heather bashing across to fence near Black Butt then followed fence upto WeatherCairn. 4x4 tracks on west side. Return to Black Butt and along fences to Cushat Law and Bloodybush Edge, mainly on 4x4 tracks but rutted and boggy. Went down across Salters road up to Lint Lands. Returned to Salters road for a long trek back passing over High Knowes | mart0797 | 04/07/2019 |
I should have picked off this Dewey years ago when I was busy in the Cheviots. As a result, I had to do it as a one-off hill on a long approach from Hartside, walking into a headwind all of the way. Ten miles for one dull summit | Colin Crawford | 24/03/2019 |
Dropped down from Bloodybush Edge. Followed the fence line across Salters Road. The top is indiscriminate. Lies between the boundary stone marked with N and the large fence post. It is easy to guess the spot. Headed off to Windy Gyle via Davidson's Linn but picked up a knee injury and ended up limping back to Barrowburn via Middle Hill from the border. Windy all day. Rain hit hard at Middle Hill. | NorthernWayfarer | 07/10/2018 |
Parked on wide grass verge, 200yd before cattle grid at 965125 - Up Shill Moor & then descended W. ridge to rejoin Salters Road before making way up to unmarked summit. Continued to Cushat Law & Wether Cairn. (PM) | gerrybowes | 20/03/2018 |

Solo. Came over from Cushat Law, skirting Bloodybush Edge to the NE. | Dangerous Dave | 15/09/2016 |
Circuit from Barrowburn: Shorthope Hill; Ward Law; Lint Lands; Bloodybush Edge; Yarnspath Law; The Middle; Middle Hill; Kyloe Shin. From Ward Law via Uswayford, then as destaylor. Summit very vague, couple of possibilities either side of fence. Continued to Bloodybush, soggy in places. | Aye Jimmy | 27/05/2016 |
Parked at Barrowburn. Good track to Uswayford. From there the path shown on the east side of stream does not really exist. Followed the west bank which led to an excellent track after about 1 km. Then at a gate followed fence to summit. | destaylor | 12/08/2015 |
Part of a round of Shill Moor, Lint Lands, Comb Fell, Hedgehope Hill and Dunmoor Hill. Parked at Hartside. Used a series of paths, quad bike tracks, tracks, metalled road and some heather bashing.Path up to top of Hedgehope Hill quite dry at moment, a pleasant surprise. Crossed Breamish at NT 91109E 17090N. Good day, saw no one, superb views. | MikeM | 26/05/2015 |
From Breamish valley over decent track to Hedgehope Hill then over bog to Comb Fell. More bog followed to the Cheviot before going too far back on the Pennine Way and having to cut back to Lint Lands. Took Salters Road back to Linhope. | SS | 30/08/2014 |
With Claire. From NT962,127 south of Ewartly Shank - Shill Moor, Lint Lands, Bloodybush Edge [2nd time], Cushat Law [2nd time] and Hogden Law. 12.5miles, 2626ft ascent. | Crib Goch | 12/07/2014 |

A discrete hill? MMMMM. I've had more prominent boils on my bottom! | moorsman | 13/08/2012 |
Cycled to Uswayford and then bagged this from Yarnspath Law. If we were to apply the Trades Description law to this 'hill' it would be dodgy. | Martin R | 31/12/2011 |
Cycled MTB along Breamish valley and Salter's Road to bag this featureless top with David M. Top could be anywhere within a wide area that's flat. | Jhimmy | 01/09/2011 |
nondescript heather top by the forest. On a better walk - not really worth a detour - there are better low hills round here | gigglejon | 04/04/2007 |
