Great 11 mile walk from parking area near Peter House farm, along country lane for a few miles and up onto Longlands Fell, Lowthwaite Fell, Great Sca Fell, Knott and Great Calva, back down by lovely Whitewater Dash to car, perfectly clear and sunny, not a cloud in the sky, had views far into the Southern Uplands towards Criffel, Cairnsmore of Fleet, Merrick, Corserine, Cairnsmore of Carsphairn, Queensberry, Hart Fell, White Coomb, Ettrick Pen and maybe even The Cheviot! Still a lot of deep snow on Knott and the higher fells around, a great walk for a Sunday in the Lake District avoiding the crowds, only saw about 15 people all day, drove to and bagged Binsey afterwards. | DanTrig | 26/03/2017 |

Set off from Longlands 10am up to Trusmadoor and onto Great Cockup, wind chill quite severe, cloud above local tops at this point. Back to Trusmadoor and up onto Meal Fell for a quick bite to eat, cloud blowing through and clearing again, by the time I got onto Great Sca Fell cloud in at that level to stay. Bog trotted a la Kinder Scouty style up onto Knott and back to Great Sca Fell and managed to drop out of the cloud en route to Little Sca Fell. Onto Brae Fell for another bite of cheese and grapes and then down over Lowthwaite Fell to Longlands Fell and down shoulder to pick up Cumbria Way path back to car for 2.15pm. Not bad, 6 Wainwrights (all Birketts/Synges), 1 a Marilyn and two extra Birketts. | Mark T | 08/02/2017 |
