With Fiona. Very enjoyable round starting from bus stop at Dunmail Raise, straight up Steel Fell, then Calf Crag, Ullscarf, Low Saddle, Bell Crags and Brown Rigg before catching bus at Wythburn to Windermere station and train to London. Snowed majority of time but did not settle. Very boggy in places.trimarc230/01/2018

Lovely day. One of best. Parked at Dob Gill. Why do we have to pay United Utilities to park on our land? Up to Harrop Tarn and beyond to watershed above Blea Tarn. Luckily track to summit was fairly dry. With Mag.iredale01/10/2015

Nice ascent starting from just south of Dobgill Bridge. Harrop Tarn was reached quickly, then from there the gradient lessens, making this a straightforward climb. A clear, warm day, so great views in every direction.James McKnight19/09/2015

Quite a slog across boggy ground from any direction. On a clear day this is mitigated by being able to aim for the hill top in a direct line. In mist it must be thoroughly depressing if you can't see the way ahead.moorsman16/10/2014

Solo run circuit of 8 Birketts in afternoon - a 3 hour 'escape to the hills' run having spent morning in Ambleside YH writing an essay on classroom management as doing my PGCE year. From Thirlmere I climbed out of the gloom to Fisher Crag to a cloud inversion over Thirmere -very special. Rough and swampy but so good to be out with fun navigating the best line between the tops.Chris Pearson05/01/2002
