10.15 slept overnight at the 43 8 height at beginning of track to the SE. Good gales and couple of rain showers clattered the van roof. Excellent curving track all the way. Surprisingly sunny. Far better option that tramping across the Moor from higher up even if its closer. Surprisingly distinctly shaped hill summit at the top, when a flattish bit of moorlands expected, but then noticed beacon that looked like a trig pillar from distance, on mound ahead to the north that seemed of might be higher. However, once getting to it the previous summit looked definitely higher after all. Very neat tall circular beacon cairn. Very brisk wind. Glad that it lessened quickly away from the summit on return.vegibagger08/02/2020
