Faint grassy zig-zag path from west then back over the other top to the WNW.vegibagger19/03/2020
2/2 Parked Carlingill and walked up the stream then turned up the fell beside the intake wall. Straight up not too bad, then curved round head of valley to Uldale Head. Then storm Ciara made her advanced party known to us and we retreated to the car carefully! Pretty side valleys.nickywood108/02/2020
Blease Fell, Uldale Head, Hand Lake, Docker Knott, Simon's Seatkeithouk22/12/2019

9.2 mile circular from near Fairmile Gate, walked north along road and followed trail near Carlingill Beck, forded a few streams then climbed steeply up Uldale Heads slopes using a mixture of sheep trails and ancient tracks to col, headed west to bag Blease Fell and unlisted Hare Shaw (23m Prominence) with its cairn, then descended back to col and climbed up onto Uldale Head, descended very steeply to Blakethwaite Bottom, up onto Hand Lake and then Docker Knott, then an easy ascent onto Fell Head (2nd time bagged), descended via Whins End, forded stream then back across to car park. Very hot and sunny exhausting day, we shortened the walk for this reason. Easy Howgill terrain underfoot throughout mainly on ATV trails.DanTrig05/08/2018
With Bryher. An early start on a scorching day. Circuit of tops around Carlin Gill. Quite spectacular deep valleys.jenx29/06/2018

Blease Fell > Uldale Head > Hare Shaw from GR: NY 61888 04490ronaldo33319/03/2018
Parked in front of chapel in Gaisgill at 639053 Along single track road towards Longdale & just before bridge turned right onto farm track Along track, bearing left to bypass farm & then up track to gate above Low Shaw Over gate & then followed ATV track over Rispa Pike to the small summit cairn. Continued to Simons Seat. (S)gerrybowes13/03/2018
Visited on drive between stays at Keswick and Staveley. Pete and I climbed this from Carlingill Bridge, as shown in chp 12 of AW's Howgill Fells; we returned by almost the same way, using pleasantly grassy zigzags above cut grooves. The gill was fairly high and we didn't have time to do a walk above the gills to Linghaw- a pity, both look like good walks.pwheeler03/10/2017
Blease Fell, this, Hand Lake, Docker Knott, Simons Seat, from Tebaybardolph19/09/2017
With Jo, from Tebay: tracks over Powson Knott to Blease Fell, then onto Uldale Head, returning over Rispa Pike and Weather Hill. Weather; sunny, warm, good visibility.amblerbob17/09/2016

Parked south of bridge over Carlin Gill then a direct ascent of Blease Fell followed by Hare Shaw before continuing to Uldale Head before descending to cross Carlin Gill at the ford.Dugswell205/09/2015
Parked at cattle grid at Fairmile Gate but there's what appears to be a purpose made parking area a little further north. Linghaw, Fell Head, Simon's Seat, Docker Knott, Hand Lake, Uldale Head, Blease Fell. A lot of up and down and not really a logical walk, but bagged 6 new tops and revisited a mountain so satisfying from a box ticking perspective.ijpowell21/08/2015
From Gaisgill up Uldale Head then over to Simon's Seat before Fell Head and The Calf. Return via Hazelgill Knott and West Fell with Langdale Knott as an encore. Very pleasant day apart from some drizzle in the last hour. Surprisingly busy hills and not just The Calf.SS25/07/2015

Straight across valley from Hand Lake. Small cairn on top and larger one lower down to S. Descended steeply into Carlin Gill to complete the circuit.Aye Jimmy11/07/2013
Quite a stiff climb from Carlingill, made more acute by the summit always being the next lump on the horizon! If going on to and returning from Docker Knott or Hand Lake, the return trip down the valley is quite a challenge .moorsman08/03/2013
Easy parking south of hairpin bend at Gibbet Hill. Trickiest bit is deciding how to cross the beck. If take the track immediately behind the car park then the beck may be too deep. If descend to the bridge at the hairpin north side has barbed wire gate then lots of cattle mud. South side very tricky to cross beck. If lots of rain must be the north side and suffer.destaylor18/10/2012
Mrs B was here on my birthday in 2010. By bridge and up south side of gill, crossing the stream, both feet wet, faint path leading up through tussock. 10 stones in an old cairn marked the top of this flat dome.arranc18/03/2012
Intended to bag this returning from Fell Head & Bush Howe, but went up the wrong hill!!! - Uldale Head instead of Linghaw and did this one first. Descended with tail between my legs leaving Fell Head & Bush Howe for another day.SteveSmith02/03/2012
