11 mile circular from Newby Head gate, along road then onto Ribble Way and up to source of the Ribble, across rough then very wet ground onto dry and grassy Snaizeholme Fell (no walls to be crossed this way), after summit headed west over very difficult dry stone wall with fence on top then over another broken wall down to gate facing bridleway to Swineley House, followed this very unused bridleway from there then onto main path up to foot of Great Knoutberry, bagged Great Knoutberry Hill on trail (2nd time, previously done in 2004), then followed trail NW to contouring Pennine Bridleway up onto Wold Fells easy summit then back to car. Sunny/cloudy with a few showers around, good views from Pendle Hill to Cross Fell but could barely see the Lakes because of haze, saw a few people all day all on Great Knoutberry.DanTrig17/08/2019
From the toad col to South with Jenx and Bryher. Easy track, short departure near high point. Visited the protruding rock high point plus the spot height and few other candidatesnordicstar06/01/2019

KJF In low cloud/mist up from the Dent road via the PBW. Summit has some limestone pavement and a few stones added to an outcrop appears to be the highest point. The ruined wall on the summit is pretty substantial.crazy29/05/2017

Start~ Dent station, done on a traverse via Gt. Knoutbury hill, Wold Fell and Blea Moor to Ribblehead station. 9m. with D.R.steve hudson22/05/2009
We tagged this on to the Nuttalls' route for Great Knoutberry Hill. My estimate is that the 558m spot height (complete with cairn) is higher than the quoted GR for this hill. (Either that or there is nothing in it!)David Gradwell18/03/2009
When living at Dent YHA I'd often jog up here via Dent Head, then down Arten Gill. On this occasion I had the dog with me so I carried on up GKH next door.DanHolme24/08/2006
