Walk/run from wild camp near Belstone. Cold windy morning with clear blue skies in an easterly airflow. Plenty of Golden Plovers. Also Meadow Pipits, Stonechats, Skylarks. Summit marked by trig and cairn all within an ancient cairn. Views were good but it was quite hazy. Time taken just under an hour for 3.7miles.isabelle20/03/2022

2-day route from Belstone, with outstanding bright conditions on day 1. Cosdon Hill, Hound Tor, Steeperton Tor, Hangingstone Hill (also visiting Whitehorse Hill summit), crossing to Cut Hill, then Black Hill(camping by the top). Huge cairn on top as well as stone depressions and wind shelter, no doubt of varying age including ancient. Trig. Larks sang. Dartmoor is surprisingly dry. Sun has now burnt the fog off.Denise 30/03/2019

A 12 mile Dewey outing taking around five hours form the free car park in South Zeal. After I followed the line on the map past Hound tor, Wild tor reaching Hangingstone Hill, descending using the track before climbing Steeperton tor. Returning via a path to Hound tor over a stream (not on the map) back over Crosdon Hill and to the car.WAYNE ROWLETT22/04/2018

Oddly carried a rucksack full of freshly washed laundry for 3 hours from the cottage nr Chagford up our regular moorland stomp with L and Flook the hound towards Hound Tor then north over this top (a repeat visit) then off piste down to Belstone to deliver laundry to Neil - on holiday with no washer for his family. Then back south into the heart of the moors on tracks as sun came out and path up to Stone circle to join our long outward route back down.Chris Pearson12/07/2017

Start ~ South Zeal car park. Followed bridleway up between tiny walled fields to the Moor before climbing Cosdon Hill.
