Up from Grimspound, to the trig, a short walk south along the grassy ridge , past a stone cross, brought us to some boggy hummocks and a engraved stone saying Broad Barrow. Challacombe medieval village and more recent mine areas to the west. History is all around you.Denise 13/08/2017

As Des.Chris Peart12/06/2014
Visited this summit after Hookney tor on the Two moors way and had read logs so knew that the Trig point wasnt the highest point. The walk along this ridge and down to Widecombe-in-the-moor was fantastic as the sun was setting, the highlight being the silhouette of Dartmoor ponies feeding on the downs. This whole area is littered with cairns and stone rows and keeps up that interest factor. I felt that I was walking through history. This was the final hill of my walk on the Two moors way from Drewesteignton to Widecombe in the moor. Although the next leg of the trail from Widecombe to Ivybridge was a long one, I did get to climb a few hills from an old tramway that the Two moors way uses.Dazingdale25/03/2014
Parked to NW of Hookney Tor. Over and down to the col where there is an excellent late Bronze Age settlement - Grimspound - then on to 3653. Fine walk.destaylor28/11/2013
