From Wha House for a round of Silverybield Crag, High Scarth, Pen, Pike de Bield, High Gait Crags, Scar Lathing and Throstlehow Crag.rhalstead23/07/2021
Followed Scafell / Esk Hause path from head of Eskdale and pitched camp below waterfall where Scafell path diverges with view to doing High Gait Crags and Pike de Bield next day. Went directly up Pen on its left side, finding faint path left of stream then easy walk from grassy bowl to summit. Came down via Little Narrowcove. Much easier than it looks.BURGESS18/06/2021

High Scarth to Cam Spout Crag and on to Pen a bit tricky in places, otherwise all ok. Section 34B All Hills completion on Throstlehow Crags.jonglew19/11/2019

Up as Aye Jimmy, but down Little Narrowcove. As I was having my sandwiches by the cairn, two guys appeared having done a route on Esk Buttress. It was the final Birkett for one of them. After taking the summit photos for them, I received a swig of Chateauneuf du Pape ! Then there was a flypast by a Hawk jet.ngthack24/08/2016

This is the most sublime peak in the Lakes. This day with Jenx we were blessed with sparkling weather, and the long walk up Eskdale was rewarded with a fine summit. After the Esdale Rdge Birketts we continued to Esk Pike then descended to Esk Hause, then across the Tongue to Calfcove Gill. Staying high at 640 m contoured around to the impressive Cockly Pike and with some scrambling horizontally into Little Narrowcove.Up this to the higher cove and a good line back from the 750m contour. Grand scenery and a 370m drop back to Eskdale.nordicstar30/09/2015

It's a long slow drag walking from Brotherilkeld for the sole purpose of climbing Pen. Got to the top, the weather was so terrible (heavy snow in May) that all I could do was turn round and go back to the car!moorsman14/05/2012

Scrambled up tree filled Greathall Gill and tour around Scafells, including a descent into Eskdale from Slight Side to be able to reascend via rocky Pen onto Scafell Pike.Chris Pearson15/06/2002
