Walkers cp by station, crossing gates locked. Crossed station Bridge and went to locked gate at end of platfor, climb able but awkward. Along track to firebreak at 2nd Lodge and steeply up through ticks! Up to wall and summit, both cairns. Back same way.Flatfield23/09/2023

Repeat, not 100% sure that I summitted in 1992. From north of Dalwhinnie, straight forestry track up to 580m, then open hillside.Topographer5705/06/2023
As others, from the quarry north of Dalwhinnie (NN 6363 8625). Good bulldozed track most of the way up, then easy walking thereafter. On to the 3 sims south. Retraced steps for the return. Just under 10k each way.jonglew04/06/2023
Started from the Quarry on the A889, above Dalwhinnie, followed the track toward Allt An't Sluic Lodge then forded the river and continued up the track, then shoulder onnthe summit plateau. The rock tor was interesting, I hadn't remembered that detail. The breeze keep the temp low, but very sunny, 3hrs all in.chillyman821/04/2023
Solo but climbing Graham Meall nan Eagan first via the north bank of Alt An't Sluic. then crossed the valley south to ascend The Fara via Coire Odhar. Descended NE to pick up vehicle track back to east of Alt An't Sluic Lodge. Fording the river will involve removal of boots if you don't want soggy socks...Parked by quarry entrance.DampandDusty19/03/2023
Following the route in the SMC Grahams guide: along track past Allt An'Sluic Lodge, onto W ridge of Meall nan Eagan - descent SW to col - traverse into Dirc Beag, which was a fascinating and rough clamber into a lost world - steep ascent above Locjan na Doire-uaine to Creag nan Aidhaircean, around the rim of the Dirc Mhor, then straight up the side of the Fara. Descent NNE then NE to extended LR track, forded Allt an t-Sluic and back to end of track. Glorious cold and clear day, stunning visibility, 16kmRockdoctor26/02/2023

After bagging Meall nan Eagan went directly south to The Fara's ridge, Cloudy and windy on top. Another GPS saviour day as I would easily have walked past the cairn and Tor!Jhimmy24/09/2021
On return from Uist. Wet weather in Skye had made Garbh Bheinn an unattractive option. My initial plan to climb The Fara via the forestry roads from the A889 were dropped for lack of a secure parking slot (e-bike on car). Instead i used the 'new' approach across the railway line south of Dalwhinnie Station. A quick cycle to the fire break and then a steady (i.e. slow) pull direct to the summit and then reverse via the same route. Fish and chips in Blair Atholl and then home.langskill16/08/2021

The Fara and Meall nan Eagan from Dalwhinnie.rhalstead27/06/2021
From Dalwhinnie station, off the early train at 0920. Up past the distillery, then up the bulldozed track before Allt An't Sluic lodge. An easy grassy walk to Meall Cruaidh and almost back, then down the much steeper Walkhighlands route through the gap in the forest to Loch Ericht. I was glad I hadn't come up that way. Train back south at 1555...in a way the day deserved much longer, but some days I just feel like hurrying.Pete R12/06/2021

Climbed as an alternative to the track from Culra to Dalwhinnie. We took in the ridge from Loch Pattack via Carn Mhic All' Onfaidh up to Meall Cruaidh. Hard work up to Meall Cruaidh, but magnificent views from there to The Fara along the ridge.ChrisThomas03/06/2021
Track towards Allt An't Sluic Lodge, crossing the river just before the lodge and taking the new track, then footpath, to The Fara. Fast and dry terrain to the South top, Leacann na Sguabaich, and Meall Cruaidh meant that rather than returning to Dalwhinnie via the Loch Ericht road we reversed the route back. Great walk. 4.5 hrs total.summitter17/04/2021

Parked in the quarry car park, two hours 20 mins later back. The bulldozed track made it a very accessible corbett. Cloud low with a strong chilling wind. Managed to see the distillery so warmed up there!! Company: Soloiandesbottes14/04/2019

Strong SW wind so headed down lochside track to a break in the forest immediately below Meall Cruaidh, easily up this then pleasant walk with a tailwind along the ridge over intervening tops to the main summit. Then headed NW to cross Dirc Mhor and the adjoining top to N end of Loachan an Doire-uaine and Meall nan Eagan. All this more difficult ground and route finding. en route from Dawhinnie to Culra bothy. It meant a dull slog to get on the ridge, but it was worthwhile, a good walk on the ridge, superb views of the Ben Alder Forest in front of us, and a E wind. 3rd successive day of clear weather, we hoped it would hold for the bigger challenges from Culra.
