Day 4/38 of my Wainwright Challenge linking all 214 Wainwrights in one walk taking 38 days to mark my 70th Birthday. Today, solo, a circular hike from Stonethwaite, traversing Eagle Crag, Sergeant’s Crag, Low White Stones, High White Stones, Ullscarf, and Lining Crag. A drier but cooler day, with good distant views. 20km with 1030m ascent taking 7 hours.Alan_70+14/04/2024
13 Birkets after 4 weeks no rain - bone dry apart from (thankfully) a few springs. Road all closed off, so a bit of a trudge along the road after Fisher Crag back to start at Steel End carpark. Hd hoped to drop off bike at descent point to road.Dave Sargent13/06/2023

Route: Patterdale – Grisedale Tarn – Grasmere – Easedale Gill – Greenup Edge – Lining Crag – Stonethwaite. Approx. Stats: 10hrs (1hr of which Grasmere lunch break), 20km, 1,076m ascent. Weather: horrifically wet & windy (soaked to skin; grit thrown in face), but not very cold; cleared up slightly towards end of day – Greenup Edge was not claggy! Notes: morning quite enjoyable walk, afternoon mostly a slog; encountered Alleyn’s DofE Gold party; navigational slip-up on way to Greenup Edge.millionmts21/07/2017
