Followed Birkett's route from top of Hard Knott Pass over Border End, Hard Knott and Yew Bank. Crossed Lincove Beck and did Throstlehow Crag and Scar Lathing (hard work). Crossed Esk without difficulty owing to long dry spell and finished with the long, dreary and pathless ascent of High Scarth and shorter ascent of Silverybield. Easy walk down Eskdale path but had to climb Hard Knott Pass via the road to retrieve vehicle - what an end!BURGESS14/06/2021

On return from Yew Bank. Outcrop 100m W looked substantially higher, until wandering over there, when it seemed lower - as is often the case.jonglew15/07/2018
