Parked at end of forestry track at NN 63572 87672, up track to end and then across hillside to summit. Surprisingly dry underfoot given recent heavy rain. Very windy but clear. Return via Carn na Ceardaich.MichaelF11/10/2023
Parked at end of forestry track just south of the quarry on the A889. Walked up the main road to quarry entrance and then up track to AAS Lodge. Bypassing lodge then up the track which fjords the river a couple of times and wouldn't be easy to cross in spate without getting wet. Can be avoided by staying off the main track on the north side of the river. From end of track it was up easy slopes to the top. Returned via the Ceardaich Tumps.Jossker23/09/2023

Parked outside locked gates to pylon road on A889. Climbed over gate and followed road to another locked gate at the edge of the forest. Across trackless boggy moorland to summit. SoloDangerous Dave24/03/2023
Solo but climbing Graham Meall nan Eagan first via the north bank of Alt An't Sluic. then crossed the valley south to ascend The Fara via Coire Odhar. Descended NE to pick up vehicle track back to east of Alt An't Sluic Lodge. Fording the river will involve removal of boots if you don't want soggy socks...Parked by quarry entrance.DampandDusty19/03/2023
Following the route in the SMC Grahams guide: along track past Allt An'Sluic Lodge, onto W ridge of Meall nan Eagan - descent SW to col - traverse into Dirc Beag, which was a fascinating and rough clamber into a lost world - steep ascent above Locjan na Doire-uaine to Creag nan Aidhaircean, around the rim of the Dirc Mhor, then straight up the side of the Fara. Descent NNE then NE to extended LR track, forded Allt an t-Sluic and back to end of track. Glorious cold and clear day, stunning visibility, 16kmRockdoctor26/02/2023

Route from A889 layby. Took forest track running by pylons to reach open hillside, first climbing Meall Na Ceardaich. Continued to Carn na Ceardaich, then Meall nan Eagan and Meall nan Eagan NW Top. Returned to beallach with Meall nan Eagan and descended NE then contoured SE through patches of silver birch woodland, then NE to rejoin track from ascent route. Only small patches of snow on this route, some mist and drizzle.RobertP10/03/2022
Bagged then the Fara. 4.5 hours in total. Quarry closed and gated BTW.Jhimmy24/09/2021

From the quarry, no problems parking three cars. After storm Dennis the stream was very fast flowing so we couldn't cross to the north side until SSW of the hill. Then steeply up lumpy heathery ground, then easing to the summit. Sunshine and showers, but out of the cloud. With TH, MH, PJ, AJ, AK, EB, DW, AM, CW, JD.Owen B17/02/2020

With Jenx, Martin and Brian K. From A889 parking at a very snowy quarry entrance. Followed track past lodge and on for another 1km to thin plantation. Cut up hill through drifted snow to bealach and gain the east ridge of hill. Good line through bluffs and crags to summit. Great all around views. Back same way as in making use of tracks.nordicstar18/01/2015

From A889 opposite quarry. Parking is deliberately obstructed by boulders and may be a problem if the quarry is busy. Beyond the lodge the track becomes rough and fords the stream; I stayed on north side as the stream was in spate. Nice all round views from summit.Topographer5727/04/2013
With friend. Parked at quarry entrance at NN635862. Along track to Allt-an-t-Sluic. Sign at start says it's an old drove road but it is not obvious what exactly is the line of this old road. Kept on north side of burn and went up ridge that comes down roughly eastwards from the summit of Meall nan Eagan. Cairn on summit. back approximately same way. Some lying snow and a cold wind.pwbellarby17/02/2013

Afternoon round of The Fara and Meall nan Eagan from Dalwhinnie.Eddie04/11/1995
Meall nan Eagan (NN 596874) S/F NN 635909. Sunny and very warm but with easterly breeze making fly fishing very difficult. Overcast next morning but dry throughout. Overnight camp at 617897 by lochside. Lot of heather to walk through to base of hill and gate with deer fencing across it - dopes - making it useless, had to go under fence. Good views from top with clear sky, very little cloud.John Youngblank
