As Moorsman - rocks were slippy in damp conditions but easy path to follow if not for the faint heartedmatty1971b17/03/2024
Circuit, parking at corner W of Wanthwaite Bridge. Threlkeld Knotts, White Pike, Calfhow Pike, Little Dodd (fairly meaningless 'summit' with two cairns), Great Dodd, Randerside, Watson's Dodd. Descended via Castle Rock then returned via ridge of High Rigg. Wen Crag, High Rigg S Top, SE Top, and High Rigg.RobertP12/12/2023
From Legburthwaite. 2.5 km, 180 m asc. Up and down Castle Rock. Showery. https://www.flickr.com/photos/samandjo/albums/72177720309858350SalmonJoe16/07/2023
First day of last go at the Birketts. Light showers. Found a way up and down Castle Rock through head-high bracken. Then a pleasant walk up Castle Crag and The Benn. Joyce took the low road back to Castlerigg campsite while I walked back over 3 boggy and pathless Synges: Bleaberry Fell SE Top, Dodd Crag and Pike. Good views.BURGESS02/07/2023
With Anne-Marie from near Thirlmere dam, Legburthwaite CP closed for logging. No decent paths to top. Lovely sunny day.citygent29/03/2022

Couple of lower Birkenstock’s to get rid of cold. From A591 by LegburthwaiteAjm031018/12/2019
The less said about my attempts to climb Raven Crag and associates the better. I did however manage to get up the 3 birkets of High Rigg and Castle Rock. The last fell is not a pleasant ascent, following clambering over the smashed gate which a major rock fall destroyed it's a very rough steep climb but thankfully short. Me and H, lovely summer's day.johnkaysleftleg19/06/2019

Well, after much doubt, I found it far, far easier than I expected. Parked in Legburthwaite car park (currently free) and left by the entrance road. Directly in front are double gates. Go through and bear left up to the wall. Bear right up to the aqueduct. Cross the wall via a stile and find an easy path up to the top. No issues. 2.2km return. 45 minutes.moorsman11/05/2018

In the wind and rain avoiding the north side. The crack seen from across the valley,on Wren Crag looks terminal.jocks113/10/2017
From United Utilities car park at Legburthwaite. Water tank access road opp car park entrance to just before the locked gate where the climbers' path veers off right (at NY 3200 1970). Once over the leet (FB) it's steep grass slopes with lots of evidence of rock falls needing care with foot placement, but easy enough.jonglew02/10/2017
Nice evening so popped out to examine the rock climbs popped up on top for good measure then over to Bram Crag quarry for a nose around there tooMark T09/08/2017

From Brown Crag - the bit after the Sticks Pass path is interesting - but of course there's a very nice path from the W. Last summit of a 17 mile high level Thirlmere circuit. RHW01/09/2013

Climbed on Castle dozens of times but didn't recall ever actually going to the summit. Dire warnings up about big cracks on the N Buttress, 'bungalow sized' chunks about to fall off, but looked OK to us! (Later note: large rockfall Nov. 2018 from North Crag Eliminate area).Aye Jimmy09/12/2012
