On circular with Craig Lair and Badendun. From track to NNW. Signs (after bridge) directing walkers away from house - a stile would have been nice! Path mentioned - not yet! Not difficult walking - used track to Craig Lair, some rough ground to Bodnaspret (with helpful atv from NO 22010 69528. Rejoined track at NO 2147 6896 and onto Badandun. Direct down SW side stream to woods and again a walker diversion sign around top of woods - onto rough ground and only a few (natural) stones to help crossing stream at NO 20207 67667carole engel13/05/2021
Cateran trail from Little Forter. Followed main track from the wee lay-by NE until we reached the second snowman of the morning. A newer track not on any of my paper or digital maps climbed northwards from here, rising between Pt.643 of the main ridge and Cuingard to its west. The track goes right to the summit of Badandun Hill so any easy bag on a crisp and sunny day. As we continued a slippery descent to Bodnasparet the clouds rolled in from the Cairngorm plateau and gave us a 15 minute white out. Nevertheless, we soldiered on as the sun returned to warm our fingers and toes, bagging Bodnasparet, Craig Lair then Fore Brae before calling it a day and heading home via Fergus and Dail na Sneachd.summitter30/12/2020
Parked just beyond road end in Glen Isla. Round of 5 Simms: Finally Hill, Bawhelps, Craigie Thieves, Bodnasparet, Mid Hill.PGCE23/07/2020
A good round of six tops from head of Glen Isla where I camped a couple of nights by the parking area. Apart from the walking were two encounters, close up, with Hen Harriers. The first rose up from the trackside ditch about 10 metres in front of me, looked at me for a bit before moving off, then a similar incident less than 5 minutes later which may, or may not have been the same bird. Then, much later in the day three rose up in front of me, again no more than 10 metres away. I guess a pair and this years chick which would be full grown by mid July. Apart from that there were the tops: Finalty Hill, down to Bawhalps, and Craigie Thieves, cut corner on way across to Mid Hill so I could get some water (left my water bottle at tent) but overdid it so missed it, round to Bodnasparet; back to pick up mid hill and finally Badandun Hill, down to road for walk back to tent. A really good day. More estate tracks than shown on map.dickscroop16/07/2020
