| From An Dun, crossed the stream by bridge. Wasn't sure where to ascend so went up, easy at first but very steep later on, a few sections on all fours! Found the tiny cairn without gps, but used it to confirm. Almost exactly 8 hours. | Jhimmy | 03/06/2022 |

| From An Dun, accompanied by a bagger I got talking to and his wonderful collie. Descended from the north end of An Dun, not too bad at all. Was intending to go straight up the other side but the terrain and vegetation was obviously much better on the east side of Allt Bruthach nan Spardan (grassy, less heather, less steep) so went that way. Quite hard work on a warm cloudless day all the same. Fantastic clear views from the summit : Ben Nevis, Ben Alder range, hills north of Kingussie, Cairngorms as far as Cairn Toul, Atholl hills, Glen Lyon hills, Bridge of Orchy hills. Easy ridge down to point 571 east of Sronphadruig Lodge, then back to the mountain bike and a 25 minute ride back to the A9. | Owen B | 15/07/2021 |
| I opted for the WalkHighlands route rather than the direct approach in the SMC Corbett guide. It was longer and probably not noticeably less steep. It was a long slow pull up over Lub Bhan onto A'Chaoirnich. Crisp and tinder dry underfoot. Great views towards Gaick Lodge and Gaick Forest. I headed down over An Sligearnach to the col before Meall na Spianaig from where I cut back north on a deer track / trodden way that angled down towards Loch an Duin and my bike. | From A9 (parked in S-bound layby immediately S of track start) cycled along track to Sronphadruig Lodge, walked on 1km or so, forded river and up the S ridge of An Dun to S summit, continued to N summit, descended NE slopes, forded (easily) Allt na Craoibhe and Allt Loch an Duin, then ascended A' Chaoirnich up slopes immediately NE of Allt Bruthach nan Spardan, to summit, continuing S along ridges, descending back to Sronphadruig Lodge and cycled back to A9. | kdbennett | 21/07/2020 |

| Biked in, and then slunk round to the west ridge of An Dun, since the south ridge was a bit snowed up and looked a bit too tricky wearing trainers (mountain rescue police anyone?). Over the top and down the north east ridge (somewhat steep), across the river (easy) and up A'Chaoirnich by the grassy wedge opposite the footbridge (steeper still). | Overnight circuit from Dalnacardoch. Followed track most of way to An Dun, but ford not possible to cross so took rough route to reach small dam and cross to climb S via S ridge of An Dun and visit both tops, camped at base of ridge. Light snowfall overnight then climbed Meall na Spianaig, A' Chaoirnich, the two possible tops of Bruthach na Creagan, returning S to climb Sron Odhar and rough traverse across lower section of Glas Choire and over broad ridge to Edendon Water and track of ascent route.
