A 9 top round from near ordgarff left bike at shenaval for the return back along the road/track. tom a gharraidh, carn mor, carn leac saighdeir, camock hill, the Ca, carn a bhacain, fox cairn, carn a bhacain NE top, hill of tornahaish. | robertphillips | 17/07/2022 |
Plenty of parking space at the ruined house at Shenval. Great track to the 707m top, then a fence climbs to Carn a Bhacain, animals have forced a track beside it, handy. I returned to the 707m top and quite easily followed atv lines and animal tracks to Fox Cairn. On the ascent i had noticed a path going right into Coire an t-slugain, not sure what made this path as no sign of sheep or deer, but its good and leads back to the western track shown on map. Great pair of hills, Morven looks a beast from here, great memories of that one. | hils | 14/05/2022 |
Parked on verge at Shenval (NJ304017), took the track heading NW up hill, forked uphill at NJ300025 (where an older track joins), continuing up to near the the 707m spot height and the end of the track at an unmapped fence, followed the fence N to the summit of Carn a' Bhacain, returned along the fence, passing W of the 707m point, continued across the gully at the head of Coire an t-Slugain, to near the summit of Fox Cairn and the short distance across heather to the summit, returned down tho the gully and took an old and narrow foottrack from the gulley contouring around the N side of Coire an t-Slugain, meeting the old ATV track at about NJ295030, followed it down to the fork and thence back to Shenval (2h25m) | kdbennett | 29/03/2022 |

An afternoon stroll from Gairnshiel bridge, too cold and windy for any extra hills. Parked inside the first passing space before the bridge off the road. Along the rough track by the river to Tullochmacarrick (interesting scenery) then up the shooting track to a point just before the ford. Up through heather on easy animal tracks to grouse butts then an easy narrow path to the summit across a dip. Fine views. Down along the fence, the steep bit is rough but otherwise easy, joining a path at the cairns, then a bouldery grassy track to the road. | Gill | 03/01/2020 |
