Solo from Inverlochlarig Farm. Good track along River Larig and over excellent new bridge. Heavy rain and poor visiblity. Very steep SW then up N ridge to Stob a'Choin summit. Along the ridge in very limited visibility, over Meall Reamhow North Top, Meall Reamhow, and Creag na h-lolaire. Descent to N via Creag nan Saighead and back to the bridge. | John Lee | 15/07/2023 |
Standard route from Inverlochlarig, rising more steeply than planned from the footbridge to avoid cattle. Otherwise no problems, steep but good grassy going, avoiding the ravine section of the stream by crossing at 450m asl. Cloud base at 750m unfortunately. Then onwards to Meall Mor. | Owen B | 19/09/2022 |
Parked in the car park and followed the farm road through Inverlochlarig and on to the splendid new footbridge. Then followed the SMC route up the desperately steep ascent of the Stob a' Choin. Then along the ridge visiting Meall Reamhow North Top, Meall Reamhow, and Creag na h-lolaire; before a tricky steep descent to Creag Chaorannach, and on to the pleasant little bump Cnoc na Nathach. Then S to N along the Stob Breac ridge, where the going is much easier. Visited outlier Beinn Mheadonach, An Stuchd, Sob Breac Far South Top, Stob Breac South Top, and finally Stob Breac. I did not fancy a lengthy steep descent after so many steep sections already. So, I backtracked to the col before the south top, turned west, taking a gently graded grassy rake with a stream much the way to the top of the forest. I then went down the gap followed by the stream with a dog leg to the grassy forest road. Much of the route was slow going, so a 9 hour trek trek covering 20km with 1400m of ascent. | silveracorn_alan | 25/08/2022 |
Steep up and steep down the otherside to bag the Graham next to it. | Jhimmy | 23/04/2022 |
Lovely day. Though going on the NE ridge. Tricky descent in the maze of outcrops to see bridge. With Janice and Brian. | Play2End | 22/03/2022 |
Came in round Stob Breac. New bridge in place to get you back over the River Lairg to the track. | JimT | 16/10/2021 |
From Inverlochlarig, circuit of Stob a Choin, Meall Reamhar N & Main, Creag na h-Iolaire, Creag Chaorannach and Cnoc na Nathrach, returning down Glen Sgionie. The ladder stile visible from Cnoc na Nathrach is not a good entry point to the glen - I would try the following the burn from the SE corner of the forest next time. | TRG318 | 14/04/2021 |
From Inverlochlarig by the old forest track in Glen Sgionie and a steep, boggy exit SW, a traverse to Cruinn Bheinn and superb views over Loch Katrine, back over the boggy col to Creag Chaorannach, a rising traverse above Coire an Laoigh to the bealach E of Stob a'Choin and steeply to its three summits. Tired and with protesting knees, I abandoned my plan of returning over the two tops of Meall Reamhar and Creag na h-Iolaire to descend the NE ridge, and instead picked and slid my way down the N ridge and NE grassy gully, crossing the Larig on stones and following the Inverlochlarig track back. | Nick Down1 | 03/04/2021 |

Circuit from car park at Inverlochlarig via Stob Breac. Found a way off somehow to the NE. Bridge over River Larig at 427175 is washed away so I forded the river. | sclater | 07/02/2020 |
Anticlockwise around the horseshoe from Inverlochlarig. | davidpettit84 | 18/04/2019 |
7 top round from inverlochlarig C/W along track then along side of burn to open area, cnoc na nathrach, cruinn bheinn, creag chaorannach, creah na h lolaire, meall reamhar, meall reamhar north top, stob a choin revisit. | robertphillips | 10/11/2018 |
Not sure which summit is the highest, so we did both. First snow of the winter fell last night adding to a spectacularly clear day and fab views all around. | summitter | 05/11/2017 |

From Inverlochlarig, taking very steep direct ascent of Stob a'Choin, joining N ridge above the crags and visiting the slightly lower tops as well as Stob a'Choin. Along ridge to Meall Reamhar,Creag na h-Iolaire then descent N along pleasant ridge with slight path and less steep ground. Clouds covering the tops. | RobertP | 19/02/2017 |
Biked in from just east of the hotel and a quick circuit of Stob a Chroin and Creag na h-lolaire | dickscroop | 07/11/2016 |
Gosh! What a jolly steep Corbett! A good walk though, with enjoyable thrutching up the grassy ramp onto the ridge. The ridge home over Meall Reamhar is a very enjoyable walk, nice ups and downs, and glimpses of good views through the mist. | Gill | 14/08/2016 |
Set up camp in Glen to east of Stob a'choin walked up a slog up to summit. Grand views and a a bit of food taken at peak. Fine peak. Then descended to Stob Breac. Conditions deteriorating. Company: Martin Stewart | iandesbottes | 16/07/2016 |

At last finished region 1 Marilyns. Second attempt and had already got the subsidiary tops so just did a full frontal assault threading through the crags. No time to be sentimental. | Martin R | 18/10/2014 |
Circuit from Inverlochlarig | rjf35 | 23/07/2014 |
Solo from Road end. Cut over bridge to old farm, burn ok but tree cover made for hard going. Track and bridge faster if less interesting option. Steep up through wet grass to gain North ridge. Both tops to ensure summit. Both look same height. Onto sub Hump and other tops to Graham Stob Breac ridge. | nordicstar | 11/08/2013 |
Stob a Choin (NN 416159) S/F NN 402105. 4th attempt to climb this one!! Very hot and humid day, really quite knackered by it. Paddled across Loch Katrine from jetty to camp site for overnight camp. Walk up valley following previous attempts then long traverse to gap at 402156. Double sumit, hard to say which is true one. Good visibility all day but just below cloud at top | John Young | 01/05/2013 |
