| Easy jog from main summit. All going well, averaging 6.7km/h so plenty of time to get to Ratagan before scheduled road closure. Back over the main summit and jogged back to the bike. Got about 500m down the track when my back wheel bottomed out on a rock, causing a pinch puncture. No problem, whipped out a spare inner and ripped the tyre off without levers. Then disaster. No matter what I did, I could not get any air into the tube with my trusty pump - that I had always used with presta valves, not schrader. After an hour I gave up and pushed the bike back to start. Moral of the story - go back to using a mountain bike or put more than 15 psi in the tyres. | Wycombe Wanderer | 23/05/2023 |
| Parked near the Glen Loy road end for a circuit of Druim Fada West Top, Druim Gleann Laoigh, Meall a' Phubuill East Top and Mullach Coire nan Geur-oirean West Top. | From E end of Loch Arkaig in very dry, sunny spell. Followed track along glen along River Mallie, roughly following SMC guide for ascent to Mullach Coire nan Geur-oirean. Camped just beyond top, continued to W top and descended SE to rejoin track along glen. Sunny, excellent views, though cold wind on tops. | RobertP | 22/04/2022 |
