With CathyS and Luna. Linear walk from Catacol to Pirnmill via Beinn Bhreac and Mullach Buidhe. Started in Catacol (NR 9098 4890) after catching the 324 bus a short way from Pirnmill. Claggy start but cleared up around 1pm for views from Meall Donn and Beinn Bhreac; of the eastern Arran hills and Jura to the north-west. | masmith | 28/12/2021 |

Bivvied on the summit. Unreal sunset, as there was a long medium-height cloud between myself and the sun - which was illuminated red. | RichardMurchie | 10/06/2019 |

4th hill of 9 today on a tough route from Whitefarland point to Catacol bay, climbing Ceann Rheamhar, Sail Chalmadale and Mullach Buidhe before exploring all the high points on this plateaux. Fantastic views, lovely scrambling opportunities for future visits. Re-traced my steps to pick up my rucksack to continue the route to Beinn Bhreac. | Dazingdale | 10/05/2016 |

As part of complete traverse of Pirnmill Hills ridge all the way from this top to the Marilyn Meall nan Damh, via Beinn Bharrain / Mullach Buidhe, Beinn Bhreac etc. A grand day's walking. On Casteal na h-Iolaire, the wee rocky tor looks higher from the cairn, but the cairn looks higher from the tor - not sure which is the true summit. | milngavie_kenny | 24/07/2012 |
Good walking conditions with a cache on the top. | Walker Dan | 16/06/2010 |
nice rocky summit, see S8730. | RHW | 04/04/2010 |
Done en route to Mullach Mor. No views, mist. Quite rocky summit with sizeable cairn. | Aye Jimmy | 28/07/2009 |
During a New Year week on Arran. A cold but clear, overcast day with Martin66 & Shaky. Took the usual way up from Pirnmill but encountered thick ice on the innocent looking ridge leading up to the SW top. Chopped up this with ice axes & continued round, again icily, to the main summit. Didn't fancy dealing with the ice descending the same way or the corrie descent, so continued round to Beinn Bhreac & then down steep but easy slopes at dusk to rejoin the outward route. A very fine day out. | NotReallyABagger | 02/01/2009 |
