From Rumbling Bridge car park, via tracks and paths all the way. Avoided Balhomish, sign noted on return requesting avoid curtilage. Stony history remnants on top of hill.willyross23/03/2024
From Rumbling Bridge on good paths, taking the grassy middle track through the metal gate at the junction with the Balhomish track, then going left after a collapsed stile to cross a stream and join the main track up Craig Obney. Spacious views, especially from the summit.Nick Down118/02/2024
Craig Obney & Torchuaig Hill from the Rumbling Bridge carpark. Reasonable path most of the way up, then picked a straightish line between the hills, mostly good going, a stream, some heather and a fence to cross.Tisteln13/11/2023
From Ringwood Quarry free carpark up over King's Seat/Birnham Hill on signposted route heading SW then NW. Not too steep this way. Descended N to Inchewan path to Balhomish. Followed a good track mainly SW until cutting off W up animal tracks to the summit of Torchuaig. Burnt heather helped. Followed animal & quad bike tracks SE down ridge & up to good track (head just right of lone Scots Pine). Good track then to Craig Obney & it's trig & Hill fort. Plenty rocks for a good lunch stop. Good tracks then to forest edge & Stair Bridge (must Google it!). Turned SE towards Duncan's Hill. Convenient logging tracks through felled woodland made this relatively easy. Little cairn on top & Hill fort at S end. Back to Birnam Hill path & down to carpark. 18km, 780m. Grand day outLynnebe16/04/2023

From Rumbling Bridge, Obney Track up the easterly track down. Nice Fort viewpoint.N.Morters10/10/2021
No heather, no bracken - just follow the track/path as marked from NNW. Very pleasant and a good viewpoint.Tony S12/06/2021
Still plenty of snow around. Parked at Rumbling Bridge (which was absolutely Roaring today!) Good track to start that disappeared under snow after a few km, then cross country to Summit before heading fairly directly back to Torchuaig Hill, which seems like the right way round to do it! 2hrs 40, 9.8km (although slowed somewhat by the snow)Nicky C16/02/2021
Bracken and heather, unexpectedly tough.Fife Walking20/09/2020
Nice walk up track and grassy path from spot height 141 to NW.carole engel03/09/2020
Parked at the Rumbling Bridge car park. Followed the track, going up the ridge to the summit. Returned down the initial steep part of the path and then took a more direct route towards Torchuaig Hill on deer tracks, before rejoining the main path back to the road. Pleasant walk, though quite wet in places.LizH17/01/2020
evening walk, cold -4, back as it got dark. Cool hill fort and trig insert still in placeTamCollie30/11/2019
From Rumbling Bridge, approaching hill from the NE where there is a path through the heather. Returned over Torchuaig Hill.NormanW06/07/2017
Pleasant walk in from Upper Obney into the delightful Glen Garr then over a lattice of footpaths and animal tracks to a distinctive summit.summitter29/04/2017
From Rumbling Bridge CP.jenx12/11/2016
Walked in with Jenx from the Rumbling Bridge (free) CP to north. Bit of track bashing to high col then path to top from the NE side. NW side steep and heather deep. Good views to Birnham hill where it does look lower from Obney.nordicstar12/11/2016
Cool walk in from the NW with parking at Rumbling BridgeDugswell211/11/2016
Excellent walk with just a light amount of snow down here but heavy coverage on all the big tops. Fresh and chilly but dry. Onward next to Birnam Hill for a wonderful sunset.Alex C10/11/2016
Self, Peter and dog. From the east (Birnam footpath to Stair Bridge, cross the Aldinny Burn near SW tip of forest, then up ESE side of hill). I think the northern approach would be easier.Invicta1428/07/2016
From CP Rumbling Bridge, no closer safe parking found. Followed path to Bankfoot as far as its highest point, then turned left up steep animal tracks and long heather, not a good idea. Returned on easy path down NW ridge.Topographer5705/04/2015
Climbed on 19 mile route from Rumbling Bridge. Craig Obney, Craig Gibbon and Carn Tuile. Steep climb but excellent views up here.meltdiceburg01/06/2013
From CP Rumbling Bridge. Avoid Tam at Balhomish. Track to 350m then path to trig at top. VG views spoiled by an extensive windfarm towards Aberfeldy.chrisbien11/12/2011
