From quarry.Nicer sticking to the ridge.Came back to vandalised tyre so beware. | ARM | 19/11/2022 |
Parked at the access point to MoD land at 229914. Over the stile, along the track to a wooden gate, then either path takes you a little way in broadly the right direction (I took the RH path as seen from the gate and came back along the LH), after which you walk over heather moorland with occasional paths to the summit. Excellent views over Loch Long and Gare Loch. | Nick Down1 | 29/08/2022 |
Quarry entrance taped off with police ribbon [do not cross] so pulled over at 227909 and hurried to top only to find 2 cops waiting at car on return. Apparently all ground and roads hereabouts is MOD property. | lordtonult | 25/08/2022 |
Nipped up from quarry entrance. After reading earlier reports was slightly paranoid I would be pounced on by Coulport security but didn't see a soul. | sclater | 27/07/2020 |
From disused quarry entrance. Took a path on the right, half way across the flat quarry area, up through the wood to above the quarry head. Then on up on animal tracks through the tussocky grass. Pleasant walk at this time of year, just a bit wet. Good views. | LizH | 01/02/2020 |
Welcoming party of security staff and dog, wanting to know my name and address, on return to my car. | mae | 28/11/2019 |
From disused quarry entrance (NS 2277 8996). Up through rough and boggy woodland to rougher and boggier tussock grass. Nice views over parts of Coulport and Faslane. Survey bolt on summit outcrop, doesn't look OS but it's on T:UK. Didn't see a soul. | jonglew | 21/08/2019 |
From Whistlefield viewpoint car park. Combination of ATV tracks and sheep trods to the summit rock. | ajwxyzt | 18/12/2017 |
Climbed whilst on a linear backpacking walk from Kilcreggan to Garelochead. | Alex C | 12/08/2017 |
Caught on CCTV and police waiting for me back at vehicle. Friendly but intrusive. | Martin R | 11/05/2016 |
Made the mistake of parking a little bit too far south and getting too close to Coulport Base, who did not enjoy my presence there. It was driving rain. Not a pleasant hill. | Thearlaichdubh | 22/12/2015 |
Park 229 914 over stile, track then open ground to the top. | robertphillips | 17/11/2015 |
Deep heather but nice rock outcrop at summit with a PSA (MoD) BM (bolt). Thick mist, no view. | RHW | 12/12/2009 |
Up from track leaving military road at NS229914. Down to road at NS228904. No hassle from military folks. Cattle grazing a little west of the summit. | campagvelocet | 13/08/2009 |
