Logged Descriptions  (logged by 18 users)ByDate of Ascent
Parked at the end of the forest tracks just before Invercharnan. Followed the track round above the Allt nan Gaoirean, then left on a newer track and across the river at a bridge. Continued on to just before a quarry, leaving the track at NN1256 4776. Up through a clearing to the start of a firebreak at NN1261 4747. A number of fallen trees to negotiate through the break - generally wet and steep in places, exiting into the summit clearing at NN1267 4714. Short distance from there to the summit. Wet and windy on top.LizH20/02/2024
From Glen Etive public road end, hydro road and forest track to northern fire break, where there is a new deer fence, could be difficult with a dog.BLACKHILL11/09/2022
Met Richard at car park after my circuit of 3 munros and Richards trip up Starav and outlying tops. Direct ascent through cleared forest and rhodendrum, Which is regrowing and making for slow going then 10m rock bank high up with a vegetated mossy scramble. Summit determined to be the NW mossy rock according to Richards Abney level. Returned via Broad NE ridge though widely spaced trees. Windfall at exit of wood into recently cleared area, gained the forest track and returned back along track to upward route. Car to car took over 2 hours, not easy terrain. In hindsight easier route would be along hydro road from invercharnan and up the described route of descent.cjo11/09/2021
Arriving back at the car at 17:00 this little peak taunts as a quick direct ascent from Glen Etive. By chance cjo also arrives and we set off. Deer gate accesses deep wet grass on the NW edge of Loch Druimachoish, then increasingly rough going up felled forest to vegetated slabs and 10m rock band guarding open grassy summit. We opt for a longer but easier descent route NE to gain forest roads at NN1294 4746 which loop E back around to above Loch Druimachoish and back through the wet grass.RichardM11/09/2021
7 tops from gualachulain near glen etive road end, creag dhubh, meall a bhuiridh, beinn fhionnlaidh east top repeat, beinn fhionnlaidh repeat, meall a chreamha east top, meall a chreamha, an grianan NE top,robertphillips22/05/2021
Forestry work has helped. From Invercharnan, take widened forest road then left branch across the Allt nan Gaoirean to a small quarried area. Straight up (firebreak shown on Harvey map) to summit. A few fallen trees in the break, but no great difficulties.mae04/12/2016
On return from Beinn Fhionnlaidh. Firebreak on S of allt nan gaoirean then firebreak to N side of summit. No obvious route off the hill that is not choked by thick rhodedendron. Would suggest Rob's route for ascent as then you know how to get off again!PeteF01/05/2011
Summit of slabby rock and tussocks, nice view down Loch Etive. From SE, pull-in, boggy path then tunnel thru rhodo into Sitka (worth marking this spot for the descent), trend L between rhodo thickets, then straight up. Once above plannation, some wet slabby outcrops to avoid. GPSr track helps a bit on the way down RHW18/09/2010
