Quick jog over after Meikle Pap, before Cac Carn MorPDuncan8217/06/2023
Short diversion between Meikle Pap and Lochnagar. Soft snow , low cloud , no views. Two tops, both with cairns, SE one was higher and has old trig. Started down to Little Pap but soft snow and large boulders meant going slow in big group so turned back and continued to Lochnagar.Denise 16/04/2023
Summit plateau has 2 rock outcrops (granite tors) ~130m apart, the most SE one is the highest and has an old trig mark cut into the top surface.RichardM16/04/2023
Parked at the Spittal of Glenmuick (£5 cash/card in machine). Good track then path up to Meikle Pap, snow slope up to Cuidhe Crom and across to Lochnagar. Return down Glas Allt and waterfalls to car park. Cloud base around 900m and snow line around 850m. Brief weather window on Lochnagar across to The Stuic. Hard going in the soft snow. 12.3 mile walk up and down Lochnagar on the tourist path from Spittal of Glen Muick. On the way back we went over Cac Carn Mor, Cuidhe Crom and Meikle Pap. The day started out nicely with high cloud and sun but as we descended from Meikle Pap our last hill the cloud came down. Glad we got the great views from the summit of Lochnagar. 1045m ascent altoghether. Saw about 20 people.DanTrig13/09/2021

Solo. From the car park at Spittal of Glenmuick. After climbing Little Pap continued up to the rock tor that marks the summit of Cuidhe Cròm. Continued towards the main summit of Lochnagar but soon came across a group of three young people who wanted to know how to get down to Glas-allt-Shiel. It was very misty. They had no compass, a poorly printed copy of a map and were not where they thought they were. I went with them and showed them the path down to Glas-allt-Shiel.pwbellarby02/08/2016

From Loch Muick, high cloud, windy, good views.iangalbraith03/10/2003
RBS HWC Sunday Outing; the path from Loch Muick is excellent, almost a pavement; a straightforward climb to my surprise as Lochnagar had been a dark bogey mountain in my mind; the climb from the col between Meikle Pap and the main ridge was slightly tricky - loose gravelly underfoot.langskill28/07/2002

Cairngorm Club bus meet. Solo. I left Spittal of Glen Muick starting on the route up the track (which eventually leads to Meikle Pap – Cuidhe Crom col), but struck off to make a route direct to Little Pap. I had gone south a little on a path which skirts Little Pap to the east, so the route was not absolutely direct. I continued to reach Cuidhe Crom. I joined the Ladder route, but made a more direct route (nearer the corrie edge) to reach Carn Cac Mor and then Cac Carn Beag.pwbellarby11/01/1998
Spittal of Glenmuick, Meikle Pap, Cuidhe Crom, Cac Carn Mor, Cac Cairn Beag, Meal Coire na Saobhaidhe, down by waterfall. On my own. Three and a quater hours drive to Glen Muick via Ballater and Braemar. Got good views. On summit is a viewpoint indicator which mentions the Pentland Hills. I think I could see them between the Lomond Hills of Fife. Got a good view and photo of red deer on way down.Victor09/09/1997
Included in our day on Lochnagar and Meikle Pap- from the corrie rim and back to the same spot, we didn't want to miss a step of the rim. This summit was the windiest place on the day by a long way.pwheeler23/06/1997
