There is now a good path through the last bit of summit gorse, starting 15m NE of the trig.Matt29/09/2023
Parked near the high point to the east of the hill.iangalbraith10/09/2023
Heavy boiler suit, rubber boots and welding gloves meant I bagged the trig with only one scratch from the whins!David Bremner23/07/2023

Good parking NH 9630 4927. Followed mapped track - at best a deer trod thru' tussocks to summit area. Huge gorse - via a grassy strip to NW of trig (NH 95584 49475) in an easterly direction. From which I cut a path thru' from NH 95592 49471 southwards to trigcarole engel11/06/2022
Got this hill climbed first thing in the morning before a promised and delivered deluge. Like others, I found the final few metres to be a nightmare. At the road, the start of the old track has been dug out and partly filled with bottoming. This only runs for less then 100 metres so I don't know which way it is planned to go eventually.Kiltie31/10/2021
As per jenx. Choice of two forestry track ends for parking by road to south-east. Followed vague paths to high point and then winding route through gorse to trig. Used clippers to remove a few gorse from upper gorse jungle!willyross17/01/2020
From parking to SE. Gap in fence leads to old track line which helpfully goes most of way, though pretty indistinct. Managed to find trig in gorse eventually. With B and R.jenx26/10/2019

Way in from north through the gorse is a bit maze like currently but once found not too painful.Dave McG16/03/2018
Parked to SE & squelched up to summit area using an initially vague track. On reaching the top, I nearly convinced myself that trig had gone but after 30 painful minutes, a final foray into the gorse from around the N edge revealed both the ancient cairn & miscreant trig. Although a way in has been sculpted by keen triggers, it could do with a fresh prune.Smudge23/12/2017
I think the Bar in Lethen Bar stands for barred by gorse. Even when I could see the trig from a couple of metres away it was still difficult to get to as the gorse is so thick now. No views either.Peterb25/10/2017
What 🗻 mountaineering is all about. Of gorse, it is.Martin R22/03/2016
Wet soggy slog across boggy heather and close growing trees. Only tackled it to get the trig.BigJ28/09/2014

Here for the trigpoint. TP:UK log: Parked and found man path up to this, last 100m hard going through gorse of which we cleared a fair amount and the trig is now visible with a path from a northish direction, no view at trig due to tree cover.thejackrustles04/05/2014
Ascended from the high point on the road to the east. A rough hill, but there are paths and the summit is fairly obvious, though covered with gorse.JohnW20/04/2013
Bog, deep heather, dense pine, gorse summit - this one has the lot. No view. from track/roadd jct to NE, parking at jct RHW11/04/2006
