Summit is either at trig, cairn or exactly halfway between the two on a mossy outcrop. After two visits to each I still couldn't work it out. | Matt | 08/11/2022 |
Left at forest track junction to small quarry at HP then various harvesting vehicle tracks, trees are being thinned, to trig then cairn around 130 metres away. | hill walker | 03/05/2022 |
Parked at sawmill gate. Up track, right at junction on forest tracks (shown on 1:25000 map) to the north. Then an unsurfaced mucky track to within a few metres of the trig. Descent to south picking up a grassy track back to main forest track. | Fife Walking | 02/05/2022 |
From A95, walked along forestry road then uphill through woods | 187lenny | 22/08/2021 |
Starting from roadside parking on A95 just north of Boat of Garten, near pt 224. Followed the main forest track and then cut up through forest. Trees widely spaced, easy to wander through. Trig point at or close to highest point. Trig is at NH9378821394. | willyross | 15/03/2021 |
Land owner arrived as I was setting off from parking area at NH 9420 2014 - very friendly. Here to check on progress of 8 year old conifer planting. Warned ticks prolific. Easy walking thru' woods | carole engel | 22/09/2020 |
Parked just off the A95 at the blocked off wood yard entrance. Followed the good forest track then cut off through the woodland to the high point. I did all high looking tops but the cairn north of the Trig seems the most likely. With GM part way. | bolton | 23/02/2020 |
Easy ascent through the woods. With B and R. | jenx | 05/11/2019 |
2of4: From Docharn Craig. | ChrisR | 17/12/2018 |
Not convinced the trig pillar is the true top, two points on the wee ridge going north could be slightly higher. Well built cairn on north end of ridge. | Dave McG | 23/03/2018 |
Here for the trigpoint. TP:UK log:

Pronounced craig-an-eeoch and meaning 'Rock of the Raven'. Parked at the disused gate at the sawmill same as BigJ. Headed up the large forestry track and took the left hand turn up the hill to the locked gate. Think I located the Cairn shown on the map and carried on up the hill, hoping to find a track heading off to the right up to the trig. Plenty of forestry tracks but nothing looking promising, so I just took a bearing and off I went. Ended up on the wrong mound and had to head across and up the crags to find the trig, so pleased to arrive in daylight. Heading off the hill strange things started to happen with my GPSr, no matter what direction I headed in, the pointer just wanted me to go in the opposite direction. Decided to just head off the hill avoiding the crags to the West (which only show on the 1:25 map) and I knew I'd eventually find the track. | thejackrustles | 19/10/2015 |
Visited when recording the trig pillar | Nozzer | 22/05/2015 |
Bagging the trig. | BigJ | 22/05/2015 |
from layby near Drumullie, then up through trees and forest roads as felling is going on. Highest point well guarded by trees. Went too far E on descent. | Thearlaichdubh | 07/05/2015 |
Have orienteered in this forest. This was a walk, starting from the road just north of Boat of Garten. Followed the main track and then cut up through forest to summit on easy ground and visibility. | JohnW | 01/11/2011 |
