32km circuit from Glen Doll. 11/15. | PGCE | 24/02/2024 |
While staying in Kirriemuir with Nikko Lim, we parked at Glen Doll ranger car park

The route up Glen Clova was interesting (my first time, up that way). We bagged Broad Cairn (998m), my 200th Munro and Creag an Dubh-loch (983m), Nikko's 1st Munro Top. The views into Glen Muick and over Dubh Loch were something else. Long day though 9:16hrs all in. | chillyman8 | 18/02/2024 |
Climbed with Ben as part of White Mounth Circuit. | honey badger | 07/08/2023 |

With Eve. Fifth and final summit of the day. Peak is surrounded by granite boulders, but has a mostly obvious path leading up and down. Good views South and East, especially towards Loch Muick and our walk-out, even though the opposite end of the loch looked rather distant... Route down was straightforward, especially after the boulderfield down from the summit, and took the very bonnie walkers path that descends gradually down toward Loch Muick as it looked more appealling than the track. A very scenic slog for a walk out. | RufusHodge | 26/05/2023 |
Second visit. From Glen Doll after Tom Buidhe, Tolmount and Cairn Bannoch on a clear day. | Windy Corner | 21/04/2023 |
Large carpark at Loch Muich (£5). With Richard, Gillian and Richard Walker and Tony Gordon. Lovely sunny clear day. After Carn Bannoch and various Tops. Track all the way down. | Denise | 18/04/2023 |
Parked at the Spittal of Glenmuick (£5 cash/card in machine). Took the track on the N side of loch and up to above the Falls of the Glasallt from where a stalkers path goes up the SE ridge to Creag a Ghlas-uillt. From there the walk around the top of Allt an Dubh-loch valley opens up - Eagles Rock, Carn a'Choire Bhoidheach, Carn an t-Sagairt Beag, Carn an t-Sagairt Mor, Fafernie, Cairn Bannoch, Cairn of Gowal, Creag an Dubh-loch, Broad Cairn - and follows the track back down on the S side of Loch Muick. Long day with a cold wind but wonderful views. With Gillian, Tony, Richard and Denise, although R&D split off at times with different peak objectives, meeting up again finally below Broad Cairn. | richard69 | 18/04/2023 |

With Tom. From (very crowded) car park at Spittal of Glenmuick (8:05) walked along the SE shore of the loch and up the slanting path to the plateau and thence to Broad Cairn (10:50). Cloudy but dry with increasing sunshine through the day; cold wind. Continued over Cairn of Gowal (~11:20), Cairn Bannoch (11:35), Carn an t'Saigart Mor (12:25), Carn an t'Saigart Beag (12:50), Carn a'Choire Bhoidheach (13:25) and Lochnagar (14:15) and finally back to car (16:55). 29 km. Start point Spittal of Glenmuick, walking south west along the loch then up onto the top via the steep zig zag path, straight along to the summit. Return route very similar, except dropping down to the lower path along the loch just after the hut. Conditions generally fair, windy on the top with some cloud, snow and ice underfoot nearer the summit. | TessaD | 22/12/2019 |
