The unmarked track was very helpful on a glorious sweaty day. If you view the route on Magic maps you can see a faint image of the track. I printed a screen image and felt penned the track.Kiltie21/04/2022
Parked on small section of old road by a gate, opposite the Knipoch Hotel. West along the road to a field gate with sign for viewpoints. (not obvious, but the path goes through a metal gate to the left, over a little bridge and behind the coach house and hotel - thanks Denise)Pleasant path up to the higher viewpoint, then weaving between tussocks, and over heather to the summit. Lovely views. To descend followed an ATV track onto the E ridge, but lost it and into more tussocks. Viewpoint path very pleasant though.LizH31/03/2022
Cycled/ pushed bike up the bouldery track from Glen Euchar and had a rough freewheel down. Definitely 4x4 terrain if, like Jon, you were tempted to drive it. Vegetation steadily reclaiming the track anyway - calf high willow and spruce down the middle.AndyS22/08/2021
From NM 8461 1984, good track leads near enough all the way up, not shown on 25k mapping, but Google earth shows it nicely. Not gated and rasonably good surface, definitely driveable but a little steep in places, 4x4 ideal. uncharacteristically I walked it, and then on to the NE top.jonglew22/08/2019
11th tump of 12 on a 30.3km circuit from Kilninver, climbing Cnoc Raera, Corr Leathad, Cnoc Glen Gallain, A'Chruach, Creag Ghlasrach, A'Chruach Nw top,Cnoc Scammadale and Cnoc Tarsuinn East top, Cnoc Tarsuinn and An Creach NE top, continuing Sw to break out of the forest then directly across to the summit, recording 357m @ NM 86046 21435. Continuation Wnw to reach good ride leading to track and the final tump of Tom a' Chrochaidh...Dazingdale16/05/2019
Bus along A816 to Scammadale road end. Up road to start of bulldozed track at 846198. Not pretty, but an efficient way of gaining height. From its top, 4WD track to top of hill. Warm, sunny, breezy. View extensive (Paps of Jura, Mull, Cruachan, Beinn Laoigh, Beinn Bhuidhe – and Carraig Gheal wind farm!) but very hazy. Back to top of bulldozed track, then east towards Cnoc Scammadale.mainnirnamfiadh28/05/2018
parked on old road near Loch opposite Knipoch Hotel. Viewpoint path signposted from field to the west of the 'Coach House' next to hotel. Path follows back garden of Coachouse ( over small bridge ) and back of hotel to join wide ascending forest track to building and further view point sign. Track, now in open pasture, ends at gate and it's a short distance , vaguely signed by white posts to the view point. There is a track on the ground to follow if you look hard. Thereafter angle lessens and bog increases to reach obvious trig on rock outcrop. HP is moss hummock next to it. Visited NE top in forest before descent.Breezy sunshine.Denise 21/04/2018
I think Gordon meant NM 84623 19838 and you have to trust that the seemingly purposeless and ugly bulldozed and blasted track will eventually take you in the right direction.Martin R27/09/2017
