Logged Descriptions  (logged by 45 users)ByDate of Ascent
Parked at the junction E of hill (small wood). Through gate on sheep tracks, past the distinctive Sycamore points the way to a path through the gorse barrier. Then grass to summit and another venture into the gorse, for good measure over the deer fence. Short early morning 1/3 HuMPN.Morters10/03/2024
Parked on the verge besides the road junction to the E. Negotiated the summit gorse easily enough.summitter30/09/2023
From road junction to the E. Defended by gorse but there's a track through it a little way S of the fenceline.govanah04/05/2023
Parked at road junction to E. Across field to ruins (tree), then a track leads through the band of gorse to summit area. I snapped some gorse branches to improve access to summit boulder. Then over fence to summit and back same same way. Next was a separate ascent of Barry Hill!Minto08/12/2022
Best approached from the East- road junction with parking. We approached from woods to N where there is good parking but very boggy, wet terrain or gorse with mapped tracks not welcoming public access. A distinctive sycamore tree is the start of the path west through the gorse. The summit is not easy- 2m deer fence to get to its east side, with saplings. We abandonned a planned bag of Barry Hill from the east due to more gorse and then a jumble of windfelled trees.Denise 18/09/2022
Easiest from road junction to E over sheep pasture with gorse. Summit deer fence to cross to reach high point. Had intended to continue to Barry Hill but the sea of gorse dissuaded us.RichardM18/09/2022
From bend on road to East, past the dung heap and over deer fence to top.NormanW22/04/2022
From junction to the E over field then through young broadleaf plantation. Back over fields on the other side of the deer fence.sclater09/04/2022
From minor road junction to the east of the hill. Suggest go through locked gate and follow ATV track to left of the fence, otherwise barbed wire fences to cross.willyross05/09/2020
Parked at a gate just north of the junction, east of the hill. Pleasant walk up, with a track through the gorse. Took the summit to be on the opposite side of the wall and fence, inside the planted area.LizH20/01/2020
Straight up from road junction. Easy! With B and R.jenx29/12/2019
Starting at junction to E of hill followed fence to top.187lenny29/09/2019
25 minutes? Even I could do it quicker. Added in Barry hill, not sure why.Martin R25/03/2016
space to park at road jnct due east. 25 minute stroll with good view of Knock Hill which I had just ascended. Barely beat the heavy shower,Thearlaichdubh07/05/2014

Top is a flat area crossed by a wall which makes it hard to see exactly where top is. I visited places both sides of wall which each showed same height on gps. Each is just a few yards from the wall. The other grid ref is NJ56725423.iainmac19/09/2007
